    Hi all,

3 AFDs for me please Shaggy. Could you take off my target of 31 days as I won't be reaching that this month seeing as I have had 2 days where I haven't been AF, I'll just see where I end up in May, thanks :)

Had a lovely day at Colwyn Bay, it was nice and sunny and we haven't been on a day out in ages so it was nice to get out and forget about uni work. We had some gorgeous chips and had that white whippy ice cream with a flake and raspberry sauce. It brought back memories of childhood of going to the seaside :)

Meeting up with some of OH's family tomorrow for lunch but will be glad when it's done as the wife of OH's half-brother is the most random person I have met. I have confirmed the date and time of us meeting about 4 times and she has acted as though I'd never told her and kept harassing me about when we were meeting! We've told a white lie and said we're meeting friends after but we intend to come home and chill lol

5 AFDs for me. I'm still feeling ropey from the dodgy fish on Friday night. Mum is still running a temperature and rather confuddled at times, so I stayed on with her another day, she was so happy when I made that decision. I'll take her for a 10am clinic appt tomorrow morning and then head back home. I'm half watching Hugh Laurie, but my bed is singing its siren song, so night night all.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Hi everyone, saw dad tonight and took him down my aunties and my uncle came round as the care home didnt realise his hearing aid battery had died and I had given them my stash of batteries. Feeling a bit better tonight, still crying obviously but starting to feel anger and injustice and I'm quite good at being an advocate so I'm damned if my father will not be treated fairly. The multidisciplinary meeting is on 13th may and they will make a decision to either send him home or keep him in residential care. my dad said he wants to remain at home til he dies and I think that if that is his wish it should be respected. They said last august that my dad could be cared for at home so I hope they keep their promise, I really want him to have happy remaining years not upset like he is now. Anyway thankyou all from bottom of my heart, I really wanted to drink, but I have felt so depressed and desparate I thought the hangover that followed would push me over the edge, so I abstained out of fear. 5 AF days, God Bless You all.

Hi all, can't believe the nice weather we're having. Sat out in the garden this morning listening to the birds. Off for lunch a bit later, but back here to relax as I have a feeling OH's family will stress me a bit. They have a habit of talking AT you , rather than TO you :o

No more AFDs to report - had a glass of wine last night - I am still on the same bottle I bought the other night. Can't believe how long I have made it last, and no cravings either! Will probably have the last glass tonight and that'll be it until I feel like one again.

It looks like it will be warm today so maybe I can get out in the garden and get a tan on me pins lol.

Sorry to hear about how tough things are for a few people here, hope everyone is being kind to themselves ((hugs))
  • Lilith, I really wanted to say that I am so glad you have moved into your new place, I have been so stressed that even though I have read all the posts, so I know EXACTLY what you've been up too (lol) but when I plan to reply and ask you about you, I end up blurting out my emotional problems, so I'm sorry.
Some advice re. inlaws or outlaws as I like to call them:
They are on your property and so should be respectful as they are invited guests, you would be respectful if it were the other way round.
No matter that their son lives there, he is with YOU and has chosen to spend his life with you so they should treat you with the same respect as him as if they hurt or are disrespectful to you they are disrespectful to him.
If someone loves their child they will want them to be happy and so will not create animosity or cause atmospheres.
In case you're wondering these people are few and far between but that's the theory.
Stand your ground, if you are feeling a bit concerned, tell your partner and NIP IT IN THE BUD. New house, new rules. Start off as you mean to continue.
We only get one life, you are worthy, the past has gone for good, unless you have a spare time-machine.
People store things up as weapons to use in an argument and that is sad.
Please take care, words and people's behaviour hurt more than any physical weapon.
They will think more of you if they know you will not tolerate it and want to play fair.
Rant over, back to bedlam lol. Love you all and want to be of help, drink is not the answer to a million questions or problems, but not drinking is the answer to a million questions and problems.
