  • Hi everyone, been looking around to unlock my 3 phone, so far cheapest is £3.99 and waiting for the code. Tried to do for free but no go. I am so glad we are all here together, I have more energy now and hope that it will continue. Sorry about the last post, a bit self-pitying I know. I am grateful for what I have which is a lot, and I am looking for the positive things in life. 25/28 I think lol, this is a very short month. Love to shaggy, and all of you so many to thank and send love to, the list would be sooooo long. I love you all xxxx

28/30 AFDs and April's nearly in the bag.

I'm going to set a lowish target of 20 days for May, as we're off to Poland for a family wedding and a few days sightseeing around Krakow. And it's my birthday month.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

27/30 AFDs, and had a lovely afternoon at colleagues' wedding blessing. The wine bells have been clanging both yesterday and today, with great temptation to go and buy a bottle on the way home this evening. Thankfully, I resisted.
Fantastic Satchmo, that can be especially hard when you know you want some and the temptation to go and buy is met with relief and guilt, creating confusion and regret.

    Go you!

    Just reporting 25/24 AF.

Had a bit of a low day, tried not to wallow and keep busy though. Annoying that they still happen but I guess it but be unrealistic to expect otherwise.

A saying that someone said here not that long ago was "Whatever the problem, alcohol doesn't solve it". That has stuck with me since and i've chanted it when I have been in tears through Bill and a fleeting thought tempted me.

Can I just ask if I am allowed to send an enormous group hug to everyone? I have been catching up on the last couple of days and want to say so many helpful and supportive things to all those who are suffering with all sorts of troubles that I fear if I do, I will:
    a) be here a very long time
    b) reduce myself to tears
    c) possibly reduce someone else to tears
    d) wear out my keyboard

So here is a big hug for you all. HUG.

On to the alcohol. I was hoping to get another AF day in over the weekend but failed. Drank around 6 units on Friday, but less than 2 yesterday and today. That is something of a miracle for me. Stop at one ? Me? Never!

I have to say I feel a great deal better and my calorie must have halved though if Im honest I think chocolate may have taken its place!

So still on 7/8 AF days so far but hopefully will achieve target tomorrow.

TARGET for May? I am going for 22/31. Im a bit scared this is too high for my weak spirit (no pun intended), but if I go too low I won't achive enough. I would also like to cut down on the amount I drink on each occasion so it will be easier.

Well here's to us all - cheers and good luck for May.

    Kind regards

    Slowdown:)

    Morning All

Shaggy - Hope you are holding up & its good you are having a few normal periods in between grieving.

Well AF for me last night, bringing my total back to 12AF's, I know I have not met my target this month but after tonight & tomorrow it will be 14 af days, last month was only 7 so I have doubled that, previously I would have had none. Still not able to reach that stop button though, that will be my next challenge.

MAY TARGET will be 21 AFD's

My hubby declared on Sunday morning he was off the alcohol (only drinking socially) until he has completed the Tough Mudder he is doing in August, due to his job/shifts he only drinks a few times in the house & only when he is not working next day, he doesnt' drink anywhere as much as me anyway.
