Re units per week... I worked it out to be around a bottle and a half of wine so half a bottle Friday and saturday with a bit over... Hmm.. but my tolerance is reducing and I can have a conversation with myself after the half bottle to say "enough"... otherwise I'll open another bottle and have to drink it all (with DH). anyone else the same?? It's only wine that I care about. I am also now drinking better quality wine but less of it which I think also helps....Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Sorry to hear that Tracy, try not to drown?
24/31 AFDs tonight. I had an open and honest chat with my colleague who has given up drink. We both admitted to having addictive personalities and unhealthy relationships with drink. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Tracy I feel for you hun, wish I could mentally slap your man. You however I think you are reacting in the same way we all do so don't beat yourself up. I really wish I could give you a hug, men are so typical aren't they, we could write a few books on them and their behaviour I'm sure.
I wanted to post this yesterday but was frightened I'd get the words wrong, so here goes if it is wrong please correct me, I won't mind.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. It is the AA prayer and it really helps me because I find it a real problem to let go of things, and admit failure. I think I can save the world, and change every man who has ever let me down.
When we look at ourselves, we are just part of the big scheme of things, and sometimes we have to go a certain way in life in order to appreciate the good things too, life is changeable and that means that no matter how bad things are it could all change in a minute. Think back to before things went awry, doesn't seem like much time does it, therefore it could all improve in a short time too. We are not here to be unhappy, every second counts, and you deserve to be happy, he obviously has other priorities, make yours YOU even before your kids, because if you are happy your kids will love it, I wish you inner peace, happiness and the capacity to forgive and love yourself, and let the bad things go if they are hurting you. Lots of love, Tina.

Hi all, 26 AFD for me please, just waiting for the engineer to come round and assess how much work this new boiler is going to be. And it's snowing...I hope it's not going to be as bad as the last lot!
We went and applied for another rented house yesterday. Had to pay for another credit check as it's with another letting agent so I just hope this one goes through!
Tracy try not to beat yourself up about the drinking hun, as that only perpetuates the cycle. All you can do is try your best and sometimes life throws carp at us. I have found that when I took the step to try and cope with stress without drinking, it gradually got easier. Now I don't even think about a drink when I am stressed, although I have to say my thoughts often turn to chocolate so I know I need to be careful otherwise I am just swapping one coping mechanism for another0 -
