    Hi macpep1

I've registered with drinkaware to and it has really opened my eyes to how much I was drinking. Some how that g & t before dinner and half a bottle of wine with didn't seem too much but thats classified as binge drinking for a woman

I have found the not drinking quite easy - it's the controlled drinking that i have found harder. Next month along side my AF target I will target myself not to exceed DAILY government guidelines, now that will be a challenge :rotfl:

Good to see you Mrs R but sorry to hear the news. Fingers crossed redundancy won't happen.

I took Kudzu when I first started to cut down. I'm not sure if it worked or whether it was psychological in helping me induce a state of mind. I used to religiously take it about 5 p.m. as part of my preparations for ignoring wine o'clock bells.

I think this thread was a great help to know that others are going through the same and were sympathetic and could share coping tips. And while the thread has never been judgemental there is a feeling of commitment so that if you say you'll be AF then you feel guilty if you don't try your hardest. Other than that, for me, it was a case of will power and keeping going until good habits were ingrained. It may be different for others but as a cutter-down that's my take on it.

this is my problem too... Not drinking is fine because I'm just not drinking... It is harder to be moderate, in my opinion.. For me anyway. I am working on it but think it may always be difficult. For now I am focussing on not having more than my government guideline units during the week. Havent thought about the daily amount though!!

Me too, If hubby has beer lying in fridge, i wouldn't touch it, but if I have had wine, finished the bottle, it is then I go looking for something else to drink. :o

I was shocked if I am honest re the guidelines, I now look forward to my bottle or [STRIKE]2[/STRIKE] 3 at the weekend but according to drinkaware to stay within the guidelines it would be less than 2 bottles over the 7 days which I thought was quite low.

I am going to log in now to fill my diary in

    Hi all

    I have finally got to 10AF :j:j

I got extremely hacked off with the new fella - keep calling him new, but nearly 3 months now, eekkk
He doesnt drink at home, he came over Fri for the football - I had a few beers, he drank tea
BUT, Sat night he went out for a few beers, and was too hungover all day Sunday to come over and spend time with me and the kids, which we had planned - I nearly made myself single, bloody man :(
Let me down, but worse, he let the kids down
I think he is well aware I won't let that happen again, grrrr
So, I had a few beers last night, felt like a de stress, but I only had a couple then went back onto the hot squash!

Gawd, longest post for a while!

Good to see you posting again MrsR, sorry to hear about the redundancies :(

And all those looking at units - very brave people lol

24 AFDs for me, and I'm starting to feel a little more positive. Went for a good run after work, and because I didn't set off until after 6, I had to run faster than usual - which is good training.

Hope you're all having a positive evening!
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Hi Barney, I think you're right! 23/31 AFDs for . Now you know why I didn't fit in in the Finance Dept - I never could get the numbers straight from one minute to the next.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
