Oh that might help you sleep too - though I'm not sure if that claim is true. Can't do any harm though....
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Please can I join you
I've been reading through this thread for a few days and recognise myself in so many of the posts.
I drink near enough every day and it's always 3 drinks or more. Some days are worse than others when I have my first drink when getting dinner ready then continue drinking all evening.
But the common theme is I wake up EVERY morning wishing I hadn't drunk the night before. To quote MrsDee (I think) "I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired".
Last night I found out a good friend has an autoimmune disease that is going restrict what she can eat and drink for the rest of her life to avoid permanent disability. It made me think about how I recklessly disregarding my health for the sake of a drink.
I'm going to take this one day at a time but make myself the promise to cut down on the days i do drink (thinking government guidelines seems like a good place to start) and have 4 AF days a week.
So yesterday was my first AF day of 11 this month.
1AF (wow that looks good!)
Had a rubbish nights sleep and a splitting headache this morning but one day at a time.0 -
Morning Everyone :hello:
Well I was AF last night so thats 2 AFD's in March for me Shaggy. I could have easily got a bottle & just come on & lied but I am better than that, batch cooked some meals to keep me busy, got kids organised for bed then sat & watched some tv with DH before he went to work.
Purple - well done you, my 1st was on Friday night :T:T
Satchmo - Well done on getting the woman help rather than shooing her away, hopefully she can get the help she wants/needs :T
DH & I watch a programme every Tuesday, its sad but its our wee hour together & we look forward to it every Tuesday, kids know there has to be no interuptions when its on, & I always have a wee bottle whilst watching it.:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

The one problem I did have last night was even though I was shattered, I found it hard to get to sleep? I think it was probably because of all the tea I drink last night, I think I need to balance it out with fruit tea.

I try to not drink tea after 5 o'clock, otherwise I have trouble sleeping.
I have replaced wine with lime and soda or sparkling mineral water, finishing with a hot chocolate before bed. I needed to still drink something through the evening as I get still get thirsty.

hi macpep, I smiled at your comment about keeping busy, as I have amazed myself at how much I now get done in the evenings due to all the "extra" time I find now that I am not drinking every night! I've been making cakes, mending clothes, sewing buttons on, doing handwashing, batch cooking, sorting out paperwork and filing, writing letters! I soon plan on starting making gifts for birthdays/Christmas presents (just not sure what yet!). Very MSE all round! Congrats on your achievements so far...Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Hi all
4/10 please Shaggy
Was a bit mad at myself on Fri - I did a curry with all the extras, fella came over, I bought in wine and beer
He came over and wanted to drink tea, and I had already had a glass of wine whilst cooking, so another possible AF eve ruined
I drank hot squash after my one glass
Oh well, he is over tonight, so should be another AF to add tomorrow
Welcome to even more newbies
Any updates from Cuppa recently?

Hi all, 11 AFDs for me please Shaggy
I don't know what is up with me, getting to the gym lately has been a real struggle. I just cannot be bothered - we normally go 3-4 times a week but over the past two weeks we have been twice in total
Went this morning though so feel less guilty but my energy levels are low, which is weird because I thought they would perk up now it's getting lighter in the mornings. Probably stress again0
