Not an AF day for me yesterday, I had bubbly with my lovely Mothers Day dinner but I am now concentrating on getting through the next 5 days without any alcohol . If I do this, it will be the first time in a good few years that I have went without alcohol for probably 48 hours at the most
.
I CAN do this, it will help that DH is nightshift this week so he won't be having any either, he can do without, it doesn't bother him.
Took me almost 2 hours to get to work in the snow this morning, normally 30 minute journey .
Happy Monday Everyone x:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

Hi everyone, woke up very clear-headed this morning, and even though I coughed quite a lot during the night, strangely refreshed. I feel much better off the booze and my skin is much softer, I've had the most humungous zits on my forehead but apart from that my skin is a lot better. Must be the hormones lol.

Hello another af (total of 5 so far). I felt a bit depressed earlier and isolated but feel better after a scorching hot bath. It's so cold here. I'm sitting in my dressing gown and slippers.
I hope everyone has a good evening.0 -
another one please Shaggy, so that's 8/20. Have a good evening everyone... xxSick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Good evening everyone,
I'm declaring my first AFD
Hope everyone keeps warm tonight xx0 -
10/31 AFDs for me, and I've got a salutary tale of how our sleep was interrupted last night.
At a bit before 5am, my mum comes in and says there's someone messing round by my car. She's had loads of trouble in the past with vandals, so I was up like a shot. There was a drunken women sitting on mum's garden wailing and rocking back and forth. I could see she wasn't hurt, so asked what she was doing. All she kept saying was "I'm sorry". She wouldn't get up. She wasn't a neighbour (mum has lived the her house for 50+ years, and so have most of her neighbours, so I know them all by sight), and not someone I had seen around the area.
I was very concerned that with the freezing temperatures she would soon be very unwell, so I called the police on the non-emergency number and explained the situation. I also explained that my mum is 83, I was only visiting for the weekend, and I didn't want my mum to be disturbed further (i.e. don't be knocking for a report). The despatcher was very understanding, and sent a car out. The policewoman and man spoke to the woman for about 5 minutes before she voluntarily got into the police car.
We were relieved that the woman was now safe, and not freezing to death, or being robbed or attacked.

Aw Satchmo what a shame, your mum don't need that does she.
Hope the lady learns, but do any of us.
11 AF days and alarm bells rang earlier so I downed a few glasses of squash and bloated myself out with food as well, so didn't cave. Really thought I was going to, had all the excuses and reasons lined up.

Oh satchmo, thank you for sharing that story
There for the grace of God etc. Could be any one of us if we didn't get ourselves to this place and start our journey of readjusting our relationship with alcohol... how very sad indeed...
Stay safe everyone. XxxSick and tired of waking up sick and tired...
