Britannia were our landlords for two long, comical years. Never, ever, ever again would I go anywhere near them. They were absolutely useless.
OP you aren't ever going to get a reply, I think you need to accept that and move on. They don't care, you are wasting your time.0 -
Not often you hear such unified condemnation!
Amazes me how companies like this stay in business.0 -
The Coventry one would charge you extra for running water, in the cupboard or not.
My last stay I had a room with no doors on the wardrobe, no mirror at all and no curtains.
Oh and the food....I don't quite know where to begin with that......
I'm staying there again next month
Heee - I'm there next month, too - Redemption Con?
First time for me. Sounds like a charming place!0 -
Alex Langsam, the owner of Britannia Hotels went to court last year in an effort to avoid paying tax. Fortunately he lost, his hotels are a blight upon the Manchester environment and should be closed down. They now own Pontins, so watch that go down in quality soon.0

Trust me they'll manage it. No repairs inadequate cleaning etc etc.
On a different tack a friend got booked into the Portland Street hotel a few years back, returned to the hotel at 10 pm to find someone else sleeping in his room. They'd sold it twice, then tried to tell him he couldn't retrieve his own luggage until the next morning.
They've lost dozens, probably hundreds of bed night since then as his company won't trade with them any more. I understand, but can't verify, that all of the airlines are boycotting them for staff stopovers now.0 -

we booked 2 rooms and was informed the superior rooms were big enough to accomodate a wheelchair as i guest is disabled , this came at an extra cost which we opaid due to them having no disabled rooms free, on getting there the wheelchair wouldn't go in the bathroom so mum not able to use bathroom facilities
deputy manager when informed said will she need the toilet in the night ?? 2 days we were left where she couldn't use bathroom in room , i requested they hired a shower chair so she could get in to bathroom , which they did reluctantly.
the cleanliness of room was dirty and they put us in smoking rooms but said they were non smoking both myself and nephew have asthma.
we asked for a refund but was offered a one nights stay on a bed and breakfast basis, we asked for the money instead but they are ingnoring us now.
2 rooms for 4 nights in blackpool £746 pound
How much did you pay for the 1 room which was not suitable? I think you need to focus your claim on this. They did resolve the situation with a shower chair eventually. So 2 nights without the chair. I would suggest that compo of 50% of the cost of the one room for 2 nights is a reasonable request, plus a further £100 for smoked in rooms plus a further £100 for distress and inconvenience.
You need to write a letter to them naming a specific amount and keep copies. If they ignore you, you could consider taking a claim to the small claims court, which means writing the same letter again and saying you will take it to court. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
We stay at the one in Nottingham sometimes and its an absolute hole. We stayed in that one for my birthday weekend and we had to move rooms as the toilet was hanging off the wall  They dont listen to complaints - we complained when their incompetence left me stranded in Nottingham with no money for food or bus fare home - the dozy receptionist just gawped at me and said she was doing us a favour by allowing me to pay cash with no ID!! (Luckily my Mum rescued me by managing to put £30 in my bank - and bear in mind this was 5pm on a Sunday afternoon) Next time we stayed there we got the same dozy receptionist and I got my own back - I snapped 'I have proof I've paid, both on my bank statement and the email so dont even think about accusing us of not paying again...' She looked slightly surprised, then sheepish when she realised what had happened last time.. And this was the same receptionist who wondered why I didnt want to get changed in a stinking toilet with no mirror when our room wasnt ready on check in time... dozy mare cheekily asked me why I needed a mirror so urgently. If I'd wanted the whole reception to know I had no hair and needed one(plus privacy - not something I want to do in public) to put my wig on I would have said a bit louder as sure as hell the whole reception knew after shed done...
