Haha, the hotel is just round the corner from a weatherspoons pub (or possibly a Yates) so i'll probably go there instead for an evening meal and forgo the pleasure of their inclusive breakfast entirely.

The Coventry one would charge you extra for running water, in the cupboard or not.
My last stay I had a room with no doors on the wardrobe, no mirror at all and no curtains.
Oh and the food....I don't quite know where to begin with that......
I'm staying there again next month

I recently spent 4 nights in the Britannia hotel in Aberdeen.
£142 per night for a grotty room (room only, no breakfast).
The room didn't look like it had seen a lick of paint in 20 years and the bathroom was disgusting. There were gaps all around the bath and what sealant there was was covered in grime and mould.
The carpet in the reception area was badly torn in a few places and this had been "repaired" by sticking a few bits of black parcel tape over the damage.
Due to the location (only a couple of miles from Aberdeen airport) it is always fully booked and the owners must be raking in the money as it's obvious that they don't spend anything on maintenance.0 -

You should have stayed here, I stayed there last week for a night, amazing hotel, spotless and the attention to detail was great.
Only paid £65, would happily have paid £130 for the "suite" we had

I didn't have any option where to stay as it was all booked for me by the company that I work for. (I normally stay at the Airport Thistle, but this was fully booked)
The only problem I could see with Skene house would be the traffic.
I had to drive to the airport each morning and back again in the evening, and even departing from the Britannia at 7:30, it took 45 minutes to drive the 3 miles. (if it wasn't so cold any icy, I would have walked).
Another 3 miles towards Aberdeen and the journey time would be 2 hours each way.
I've been going to Aberdeen on a regular basis for about 20 years, and the traffic seems to get worse each year, and around the Dyce area it's pretty much gridlocked between about 7am to 9:30am and 4pm to 6:30pm.0 -
Never mind forwarding the complaint
- In 2 sentences what did you not get which you should have had or vice versa
- In 2 more sentences what would you like to be done to put this right.
The hotel is not in a regulated industry so they are not obliged to have a complaints procedure, but if you give some indication of the problem, someone should be able to indicate how to move this forward.
we booked 2 rooms and was informed the superior rooms were big enough to accomodate a wheelchair as i guest is disabled , this came at an extra cost which we opaid due to them having no disabled rooms free, on getting there the wheelchair wouldn't go in the bathroom so mum not able to use bathroom facilities
deputy manager when informed said will she need the toilet in the night ?? 2 days we were left where she couldn't use bathroom in room , i requested they hired a shower chair so she could get in to bathroom , which they did reluctantly.
the cleanliness of room was dirty and they put us in smoking rooms but said they were non smoking both myself and nephew have asthma.
we asked for a refund but was offered a one nights stay on a bed and breakfast basis, we asked for the money instead but they are ingnoring us now.
2 rooms for 4 nights in blackpool £746 pound0 -

A complete dump in my opinion.
No, it was called Britannia. They laughingly called it an airport hotel but it was miles from the airport - closer to Stockport to tell the truth.0 -

Don't do it, there's a brand new Premier In within 5 minutes walk of the britannia...
There's no reason to book that place at all..0 -
I've stayed at the Britannia Coventry and agree with all the comments above. There are several hotels quite close and although they are not all brilliant they are all a lot better than the dump that is the Britannia.0

Not sure if you mean the one in Coventry itself, but we stayed at the one approx 4 miles outside Coventry for a 'Christmas getaway' about 3 years ago. I can't begin to list all that was wrong with it. 4 floors and only one lift working, mainly older and/or disabled people, and on Christmas Day the one remaining lift broke down. And so on, and so on.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0
