Yes you are right. I think I'm starting the menopause, I never used to sweat but now even when it's snowing outside and I'm wearing the strongest deodorant I can feel my armpits getting a bit damp. It drives me crazy!"Women are made to be loved, not understood - Oscar Wilde .
A big thank you to all the fab people that take the time to post bargains :beer:0 -

How serious is your sweating condition. Maybe GP can prescribe you something milder but as effective. The creme Photome suggesting sounds really vile. I'm sure it's effective but...
thats a bit harsh and for someone who suffers a seriously embarresing condition, a strange thing to say
The pads you speak about would be of no use at all to the person who uses this cream0 -

I didn't mean to sound harsh or disrespect your opinion/suggestion in any way. After reading a little bit more about creme, I couldn't think of any other word but vile. Sorry. You've also mentioned that creme as a last resort yourself. I thought that she should try something milder to start with. GP will probably recommend Driclor or similar. Now, being/was in a similar situation I know how difficult is when hormones start to play with your body. I became more sensitive and couldn't use even Driclor, never mind anything stronger. Of course, it is embarrassing problem but everybody's different and everybody have to learn how to compromise and improvise in order to make it more bearable. On another hand, it's a problem but it's not the end of the world. Regarding underarm pads, I've mentioned before that they're probably not suitable for somebody who sweat too much and that they're fantastic for the people who sweat moderately. But also, they're not perfect. There is a period when I sweat more then usual, sweat goes over the edges of the pads and I have to improvise somehow. ( well, make sure that my arms don't do any talking) but most of the time they are perfect solution for me and I know that some of my friend are using them and it made the difference for them. They are not for everybody, not everybody likes them, but it's good to know that they are available.0 -

I sympathise with you as I'm approaching my mid-forties and hope mine is not going to be as bad as my mother's. She suffered dreadfully from a hot flashes and I'm not looking forward to it at all.0 -
Found these on ebay 50 for £3.10 and free p&p from Hong Kong if you don't mind waiting for them http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181014771693?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l26490

How can this be possible? Surely, £3.10 can't be enough to send parcel from Hong Kong, never mind the cost of pads.0

Received the pads yesterday! They look very promising, now I can wear my few special tops I was really worried about ruining them with white stains (sweat related). This pads seem to be soft and comfortable, just to test the water I've put them this morning and so far they are doing what they are supposed to!:rotfl::rotfl:0

Also if you buy Sure Crystal anti-perspirant it does not leave marks on your clothes. I use this and it's been wonderful. Although I don't have a problem in this regard, there are times, especially in summer, when we can all overheat and marks would get left but now with the Sure Crystal I never get underarm stains so it does work well."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -
I used Driclor for a year and it was too uncomfortable to be worth it, awful itching and dry skin. I used Mitchum and it stained my clothes. I've been using pads for about 6 months now and try to 'save' them for better clothes so I don't whizz through them. I buy mine on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110899852717&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:IE:3160
Does anyone else have trouble applying them? I find it v awkward and they can stick to my underarms or get all rumpled! They do pick up all the sweat though and can smell after a few hours so I bring some deodorant roll on in my bag. All those years of ashamedly putting tissue under my armpits, its good to know i'm not alone!0
