I got suspicious when I found some in my XH's wallet.. I have a severe latex allergy and can't be anywhere near them without developing breathing issues.. Maybe he was trying to assassinate me lol (DS1 found them.. we had an issue with him stealing money at that time and he told me, I wouldn't go snooping without cause) Turns out he was sleeping with another woman.

In your case, I wouldn't be thankful he was thoughtful enough to sort the contraception issue himself, consider he might have fancied a bit last night and forgot the flowers and chocolate :p and just popped the box in his pocket as a small easy to lose item or not wanting it to be obvious to everyone he walked past what he had bought.

When I have bought certain things I have been known to throw outer wrappers/boxes in bins on the way home rather than have the items and boxes in my house/bin .

Just ask him.. he is unlikely to say he has been having an affair with the guy he works with.. though he might.. ;)

  • He didn't have to tell u the were in his pocket. Perhaps the were different ones from your usual that he fancied trying, perhaps he picked them up at garage when getting petrol etc.Perhaps he wanted to make doubly sure that u hadn't run out

How about he went and got the toothpaste last night before going to work because he thought he wouldn't be bothered after work, but he and maty colleague started talking sex, matey telling him how he can't wait to get home and get some with his misus and your OH got excited, so much so that he couldn't be bothered to go all the way to where he gets them for free, ran into closest shop, got some, put them in his pocket. On his way home, also picked up the bad with the toothpaste he left on passenger seat...

Maybe he thought he'd buy nicer ones, the brook ones tend to be pretty basic, maybe he got the luxurious ones lol.

Too much ifs ands just assuming, presuming and over thinking.

Ask him, again. If you don't believe him. Ask yourself why?

Cor! there is nothing like being suspicious! Maybe he was going to give himself a posh one when he was at work?!?!?

Or maybe he was being thoughtful my partner buy's stuff like that if we're running out he notices more than me. I don't think he's playing away because he bought them, be glad he thought of them.

He does know where I normally get them as he gets them from there too. However, as the toothpaste and condoms tend to be in the same general area in the shop I don't know if he's saw them and picked them up trying to be helpful or trying to get a +1 off his colleague for picking them up.

It's just that they're in his pocket rather than the bag when I know he's been working with that coat on - why would you not just put them in the bag?!!! Plus why buy what we have free when I'm pretty sure we have some anyway?

Well, maybe he didn't want his workmates (or anyone) to see them in the bag? I don't like having tampons in a bag like that.

I wouldn't fuss, he probably thought he was being helpful, but l would ask if it bothered me.

    Happy moneysaving all.
  • I think you're thinking too much about it and your husband bought them without thinking too much about it . You should just ask him instead of worrying about it and it's not as if he was hiding them from you .

I agree that you're probably overthinking this. No doubt they were close to the toothpaste, he saw them, couldn't remember whether you had any left or not (and you said yourself you're not 100% sure whether you have any in so he'll have no clue!) so picked up a few in case he got lucky later. Let's face it there's nowt worse then being good to go and then realising you don't have one - I'm sure most guys would rather pick some up when they weren't needed then be out when they were :)

As for being in his pocket, was it one of the annoying mini-bags that are pretty much see-through? I always seem to get them and so if I have anything that I don't want the whole street to see then I put it in my pocket or handbag instead. In fact sometimes I will put small items like a choccie bar or something straight in my pocket anyway instead of in the bag - so I really wouldn't think anything of that.

If there are other things that may be worrying you then fair enough, but if this is an isolated incident then I really wouldn't bother about it.
