And if every step is painful to take will you get the Enhanced Rate because the guidance says without pain or discomfort?

    Without severe discomfort.

I suppose severe discomfort is an individual perception. Difficult to quantify I suppose.

Severe discomfort to one person may not be severe discomfort to someone else.

This is why DLA is not fit for purpose and hopefully PIP will get rid of this when it finally gets passed into law, no one should be classed as disabled and get disability benefits because of discomfort because discomfort can be as little as a tiny piece of grit in your shoe!

    Discomfort is not a disability.

  • Discomfort is a disability but is a 1T+ debate.

If idiocity was a disability you'd get the highest rate! :D

    Very true!

Nobody is going to admit that they can manage and don't have discomfort when claiming DLA. Every claimant is going to say that they are in agony with every step simply because no one can disprove it!

And as you say, it is a subjective argument.

What is severe discomfort? To me it would be having an operation without anesthetic. To others it would be a paper cut to their little finger!

Far far too liberal it needs tightening up a lot.

That's why we have something called Case Law, but as it contains long words I won't confuse you with it! ;)

    Another idiot.

Just for your information, pain in medical terms isn't subjective, it can be, has to be and is measured. Without such measurement attempts at pain management wouldn't be possible.

Maybe you should research this information before spouting crap on the forum.
