What is the average gas/eleccy bill
My combined gas and electricity bill comes to just under £75 a month. This is approx £25 gas and £50 elec. I checked I am using the cheapest supplier through the links on this website and only Npower works out cheaper by £21 a year but I recently switched from them due to the atrocious customer service. My central heating is gas so the electricity is running combi washer/dryer, cooker, hob, 2 x tvs, fridge freezer, pc ( sometimes 2), fish tank. This seems excessive for my electricity what does everyone else think?

I pay £63.50 for combined gas and electric, I am a cold bod and have the heating set to about 24 degs (min), have three showers every day sometime more and a bath every other day (this is all of us, the little ones get bath and hair wash every other day). Dishwasher, washing machine, 6 tv's, games, computer, lights (blackpool illuminations etc).
Oops just checked my bill and I was £85 in credit but the bill was dated FEb 04, just realised that I have not had a request to read my meter for ages probably because the email address they had was out of date!£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

This is really a 'How long is a piece of string' question.
So many factors affect consumption. Size/type of house and number of people living there are but two.Robert0 -
I have a 1 bedroom house with 2 people in it, all heating and hot water runs off the gas which is only approx. £25 a month, it is the electricity I have a problem with0

Agreed the electricity does seem very high for 2 people. It is difficult to see how you consume that amount; depending on tariff 8,000-9,000 units a year.
Couldn't be that you have an immersion heater switched on could it?
It would be fairly easy to monitor the high consumption appliances like the combi washer/dryer, dishwasher and fish tank? by taking meter readings.Robert0 -
Does seem rather high lynsey - there's only me and Hubby, but we've got a very large, draughty old house and our combined gas/electric is £50 a month (Swalec)"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0

We have a small 2 bed mid terrace and spend £14 per month on Gas, and £20 per month of Electricity. However, we are also in credit by a good amount with both gas and elec.
One good way of finding out if there is anything switched on...is to switch everything you can think of off for a couple of mintues and see if the meter still increases. You could have fun with the fish tank though using this plan.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Mine is expensive too. I pay in total about £66 total a month for a small house with 2 people in it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

I have been blaming my boyfriends pc's as he always has at leats one on all day, trouble is he needs them for work and we have broadband which kinda encourages you to use it for everything0
-
if a PC is on allday everyday then assuming a PSu of about 350w it's probably about £20 a month for that, plus monitor on top of that0
