    got similar trouble here:
order a coffee table from amazon last month and the item was delivered by yodel, according the tracking record from yodel website, the item was travelling between depots for 10 days until it was delivered and signed for a random name who is definitely not me nor my neighbour. Since it has been two weeks since I order i decided to complaint to the vendor and they re-dispatch another one by ... yodel again... guess what. this time the tracking record shows that the item was delivered within 1 working day but signed for another random name again... thus ring up yodel a number of times they promised to investigate the issue and get back to me tomorrow, but whenever I ring again, they promised again... tomorrow..
  • Hi,

I ordered a new phone at Virgin and got a email "It's on a way" and link to track my parcel. I can see that the phone was sent to the depo and was waiting for to be delivered. Yei! :T

First of all, it did not come at the day as it was informed. The next day, the record referred that Yodel came for the delivery. What?!

This is the first stage I found that there was something to go on.

I contacted Virgin customer service and a person replied that "As for your parcel and the note left from Yodel that they were unable to gain timely access,

I've called their team and they've advised that this can be due to closed gates, no working ringer and if you live in a flat it may be that they couldn't open the communal entrance".

I replied to say "Unfortunately they told you a "LIE".:o My husband was sitting in a sofa to wait for them where is two meters away from a front door and four meters away from a back door.

The light was on, so that even you are standing at a bus stop that is 10 meters away from our front door, you will see that he was in the middle of lounge.

There is a gate but it has kept open and there is no lock and there is no gate for the back yard".

As a result, I do not have a "NOTE" left as no one came to my house." :(

I started really being worried and having seeing these Youtube video clips and news, I thought that I should have checked it before ordering it.

It reminds me that I had a delivery of a printer from Amazon 2 years ago and that was left in the middle of back yard without knocking a door whereas my mum was in our house for the delivery all day long. It was not sunny day either.....

So, the next day, I arranged to collect the parcel from its depo and received a confirmation email. I printed it off and gave it to my husband to collect it for me with his passport.

I even double checked with Yodel on chat whether it is fine without the note as we never received.

Then, when husband went to the depo, the delivery had gone and had left the parcel with our neighbour.

    What a company.................

Having all sort of systems to back up services, but there is definitely lack of work ethics within employees. They probably just don't bother.

I will not order anything valuable through Amazon and Virgin again.

    Regards
  • Yodel are the only delivery company that leave blank cards and manage to damage Amazon deliveries (Amazon wraps things well!). They also have on one time thought that leaving outside was appropriate... in the rain...

Nice to see their CEO says that they take account of weather conditions before they leave stuff in random places. Maybe when he next gets his paycheque HR can leave it out in the rain a bit first then see if it can be cashed.

I have had two parcels (or should I say I have tried to have two parcels) from yodel this month, the first was garden furniture from asda that I paid extra to get delivered on a certain day, it never turned up as yodel had lost it, my husband then ordered a bike for my birthday which was supposed to be delivered on the 21st but yodel tried to deliver on the 18th then never delivered it again despite my husband calling them and being assured it would be on the 21st, needless to say I had no present for my birthday, worst company to deal with :(

DPD's own feedback site is full of apologies for only offering premium rate calls to sort out any mess. But no alternatives. So here is a direct line - 0121 569 1400.
  • First time here, hi everyone. Terribly distressed and upset. Ordered new mobile on contract from virginmedia 2 days ago and phone was due for delivery by Yodel yesterday. Waited in all day, it never arrived, nor was a card left. Website stated driver could not gain access to my building (obviously never heard of doorbells) and no card was left to show he had been. Rang Yodel, they said I could collect from service centre but its over 20 miles and I stated I was not prepared to pay for their error. Nothing else discussed as I was cut off in mid conversation. Today I get a call from virgin media having emailed them and in the middle of the conversation was told Yodel maintained they had re-delivered today and I had signed for it. I was out part of morning but cannot prove it so now I am as good as being called a liar. They took money from my credit card account for the phone so I've lost out all round. Should I report it as fraud to the police? Virgin say they will investigate but I am just so distressed. I am a 61 year old lady who works as a carer away from home mostly. I have a 250 mile drive early tomorrow morning and I know I won't sleep tonight due to the worry of it all. How do these people get away with doing these things??

Yodel are shocking and the same thing happened to me. They let a stranger sign for my parcel. The company (virgin media in your case) will have to investigate and they may ask you to send proof of your signature (I emailed a pic of my driving license) to check against what Yodel have. You could also ring Yodel and demand a copy of the signature to check for yourself. I got this number from them a while ago: 0845 408 4510. Not sure it still works though.

It might take a while, but start a formal complaint with them and Virgin as soon as you can.
  • i don't care if this is libelous but Yodel are the worst company i've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They are compulsive LIARS.I've taken 2 days off work waiting for a parcel to be picked up from an ebay sale. The driver has said he's posted no entry cards yet ive been sat here for 48 hours like a lemon.I rang them and they denied all knowledge of my order???!!!!!!.Finally they traced my order and asked me to drive 20 miles to drop off a 42 inch tv lol.

AVOID YODEL at all costs.there's much better courier services out there that dont tell bare face lies to you.

Both of these companies are terrible, neither have heard of door bells.

Yodel never answered their phone when I tried calling them several times when Amazon used them as a courier. I contacted Amazon who stated that the parcel had been left "on my patio", I live in a block of flats so I have no balcony. Every person entering and exiting the building walks passed my flat door, everyone in the main city road walks passed the buildings front door. Amazon offered to send out another batch of my items and sent them via Royal Mail, I received them the next day so top marks to Royal Mail.

My Hermes are almost worse, two days I spent staying in waiting for my delivery. After contacting the company they stated that it was an independent person that delivered for them in my area, (not sure about that!). They stated that the person had attempted to deliver twice to which I stated my door bell never rang, and it is a loud doorbell it sounds like the buzzers on Have I Got News for You so you always hear it. They said they would try and contact him to get the info.
I also contacted Craghopper that I had ordered from, their reply was that he could not gain access to the building; I suggested ringing the door bell. Their reply was that he would be attempting again tomorrow, to which my reply was having a refund on the delivery charges for the inconvenience of waiting three days. The woman said she would see what was happening and if it couldn't be delivered until the next day then she would ask her boss about a refund on the delivery charges.

YODEL AND MY HERMEL ARE TWO COMPANIES TO AVOID

ROYAL MAIL IS ONE TO USE :T
    (Although that may change soon)

That used to be the case
