Yodel are consistently voted the worst... do they ever improve? No
The companies that use them don't care.. they're cheap!0 -
I've stopped using The Book People as Yodel keep messing up deliveries and telling downright lies. The Book People staff seem to care as little as Yodel0

I had a Book People parcel earlier in January that I saw on the website was out for delivery, no-one came all day, and the status changed to delivered, with customer. I was on the verge of phoning the next day when the status changed back to out for delivery, and it was delivered within 2 hours. There was no apology, no excuse, nothing.
On the other hand last Wednesday a card was left (timed at 10.40ish)asking me to call a mobile number to reschedule the delivery. This I did, a nice woman answered and said she'd try to redeliver that same day, but she had no idea when. True to her word she was back within 4 hours, and delivered with a smile. We are about 60 miles from the depot so she must have come back some miles to me, but she was still cheerful.
I think it depends on how pushed the driver is, or is the word p***sed.0 -
Unfortunately this is a poor survey,
As it does not give one vote to each parcel delivered, so as yodel is the biggest provider of man in van drop services it is likely to get the most votes.
People mostly vote when things go wrong, hence yodel has most negative votes.
While the stats are poor the underlying message is correct, carriers offer a very unfriendly poor service!0 -
Congratulations to Yodel!0

Having had to drive to depot by arrangement then told to Beep off as they were not letting people collect as agreed a wasted 20 mile drive for part needed to complete a repair and then the next week them being unable to read their own bar codes I cancelled order. I have cctv at my address and I was amazed to discover that they employ invisible delivery drivers as they stated they had visited but were not seen on camera. I now will buy nothing without asking if they are being used I politely say or comment that I do not want to proceed and say why.0

Funnily enought I've had no trouble with Yodel but Hermes... urgh!
They managed to lose a £200 parcel.. but claimed it was delivered, even though it wasn't! At least not to me. To "someone's" lock up garage, maybe.
Complete charlatans. Would never use them again.xsupercarlx wrote: »I had an item from yodel, the clown showed up when nobody was in a dropped a BLANK card through the door. No name, no time, no nothing.
I contacted the people i ordered the item off and they sorted it out, I received the item the next day.
First time I've had business with them and hopefully the last.
At least you got a card, Hermes don't even bother with that you have to go look on their so-called website to see any trace of your parcel...Unfortunately this is a poor survey,

agreed, it wouldn't hold up in any kind of statistical analysisBlessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0 -
"However, feedback about our Christmas service from the major retailers for whom we deliver has been very positive and does not reflect the findings in the MSE poll."
I'm sure Yodel hear nothing but wonderful things from the retailers whose delivery targets they meet, by whatever means necessary.0 -
I have had nothing but bad experiences with Yodel! I have an xbox360 left out in the rain behind a bin last year. It was destroyed.0

I used to be home delivery driver for Yodel, used my own car & paid my own petrol to deliver Yodel parcels for a pittance. There are a lot of these drivers as well as their van drivers. The parcels are delivered to you from the Yodel depot and you deliver around your local area.
The service you get does depend on how conscientious your driver is. You only get paid for when the item is delivered, not all the attempts which is probably why you get so many left anywhere regardless of weather. I made agreements with all my regular customers on what to do.
In the end I decided the pay just wasn't worth all the effort and impact on my car but I should imagine some just cut corners instead to make it worthwhile.
Hermes operate the same system.0
