Hey Debtfree
Just stopping by to say hi! Wishing you all the luck in the world to be debt free by 30, I wish I had tried earlier!:o
I was 30 last month and that was a big wake up call but plodding on as we do......
You are doing really well, keep at it
I'm subscribing :T
Thank you for the vote of confidence 1stTimer!
I'm not sure why 30 is my aim?! I hope all the significance I'm feeling now just drops away when you actually reach 30?? Do you have a diary? I shall have to have a nose around and see!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Hello again W&M
Thank you for dropping by! I felt pretty useless with the NSDs at first but now they're far more easy to come by. Although I may have set myself an unreachable target this month
Will have to see how it goes! Packed lunches at work are definitely part and parcel of the debt busting and help tremendously! I used to spend so much on food  Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Just checked my pay packet, I come out with an additional £27.85 each month after the tax allowance increase. Far better than a kick in the teeth! I shall round it up to £30 and add it to my fixed monthly payment of £150 to the old BC. According to my snowballing app that brings my DFD to October 2014 which seems completely unreachable in my mind but all the numbers are definitely right!!! That's potentially very exciting!! :j Time to get my head down even more and see how much more time I can shave off the DFD... Yey!! Even the thought of working overtime tomorrow is making me smile because it means extra pennies

Merry money saving everybody

30's a great age to aim for because to me it was like the first time I registered being an adult :rotfl: (20's didn't count haha)
If I could have been debt free at 30 I'd have been extremely happy with myself and I do think you will do it!!!
That's great news about the tax and DFD, it's little things like that that get you all excited and spurred on again isn't it?
Ooh I'm an overtime hoarder now, none of the guys I work with get a chance to offer any more haha, just as we'll they have life's to live I suppose :eek:Save £12k in 2025 #32Make £2025 in 2025 #28

I think that's definitely my train of thought, 20s are just a time to start getting things sorted on the way to being a 'real' adult at 30! That's my excuse anyway, all those young mums and dads, married and owning houses in their 20s are completely ahead of the game! If I can really squirrel the pennies away for the next 3 years I may even be debt free and have a house deposit by the time I hit the deadline birthday!! Here's massively hoping!
OT yesterday was nice and easy compared to what it could have been, so happy they've agreed to pay me, need to keep it quiet or my colleagues will get jealous!!

So it's Sunday, it's BF's weekend at work and I'm having a lie in! Thought there was a chance of nice weather today but nooooo! Need to figure out what I'm making for tea tonight and have a look at food options for the next couple of weeks. Running low on fresh items so may need to nip to the supermarket for a quick top up shop. Other than that I won't be doing a lot! Payday tomorrow so will have to see what can go where overpayment wise. Bit worried about my SO for my rent as it goes out of my bills account on the 15th and the SO from my main account goes to the bills account on the 14th, obviously with it being a Sunday today it's not there yet - I hope it doesn't mess things up thinking the rent goes out before the money appears in the bills account?? If that makes sense?! Not much I can do about it now I guess... Just have to wait and see!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Fingers crossed your money goes in / out ok and the rent gets paid

Thank you! I am proud of myself to a degree, but also annoyed that I got myself into that mess and sad that I've now sold all my gadgets...
Sometimes I feel like if I lived on my own I'd be minted ( 1/2 of that debt wasn't mine)
But hey ho getting there slowly but surely
