Just had £20 made payable from TCB!!! :j :j
Should be another NSD today.
On a less positive note I checked our gas and electric bill and they've completely ignored the meter readings I sent last month and (I really hope) grossly overestimated our usage. They're asking for £500 for a quarter, whaaaaat?! What is with utility companies and bills at the moment?! Hoping the meter readings I do when I get home will mean I get a greatly reduced bill!! I hope everyone is having fun with the money saving

Phone call to the gas and electric company was quite nice actually! They recalculated my bill to half what they had originally said, £265 for the quarter is ok for me, especially as it has been so cold!! We have a rent and bills account which has more than enough pennies in so this is all taken care of! Set up a monthly direct debit too which they have set at £48 which seems really low to me?? I guess we shouldn't have the heating on for the foreseeable future though. I'll have to do monthly readings until I'm happy they have our usage right - considering they had overestimated us by almost 2x the amount we'd used I don't have much confidence in their estimation skills!!
Came out of work £30 better off today through a bonus scheme, it's been a great day so far
Off goes the £30 plus a spare £5 I have in my account to the barclaycard, as soon as my CB is in my account that will be finding it's way across too!! Yey for overpayments on the dreaded BC!! :T Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Ok we're on 20 NSDs (including today cos it definitely will be one!) and there's 5 days of the month left. I'm going to be pretty close to my target of 25 if all goes to plan but I just don't think I can make the food we have left stretch until 1st May!! Aaaargh!! At least with May being a 31 day month I should hit 25 next month?! Plus I had to get car tax this month which was a spend day I won't have again for a while!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Sounds like you are doing great with the NSD's! :T Congrats on the bonus, it's always nice to have the extra unexpected bits of money coming in...if only all days could be like that! :rotfl:Have you been out running again this week? :cool:0

Hi PPP!
The NSDs are going ok! Just hammers home how unnecessary so much of my spending was in the past! I don't even know what I was buying!!
I'll happily take bonuses however small whenever they come along! I found a £1 on the floor today which made my day!
Just got back from my second run. Hard work but it'll get easier
Got to keep at it!!
I hope all is well in the land of pink pepper pots. Exciting news about the house buying :cool:Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Thank you 1stTimer!
I found I was pretty useless at the NSDs at first but then aided with my little spending diary I found writing NSD next to each date far too enjoyable!! My target of 25 is quite few though, not sure I'll make it
I have been trying to get all my spending on the same days but it doesn't always work like that!! If I get to 23-24 this month I'll be happy!!
Just had the cashback from the other day arrive in my account so that has been thrown at the BC. I'll be hitting over the £1000 paid off mark once my fixed DD of £180 goes out at the end of this month. Need to be at least 50% of the way to £3000 by June if I'm to keep on track. Fingers crossed with my overtime pay and the fact I may have managed to sneak my spending under my £300 "spare" money this month I should have a decent amount to overpay in May! We'll see how close I came to just spending £200 for the month too!!

So we had our leak fixed today, I called UU and was all nice as pie but just got told as it was internal it's our fault. I get that but all the piping is enclosed so there was no way of seeing all the water leaking away and putting our bills up to £570 for 5 months. They basically said they'd calculate the cost of the leak and we could present these to our landlord and see what they say. Tbf our LL has been nothing but helpful since we signed the contract but I have a feeling in my bones we're guna get lumbered with this one
My cashback credit card which I use for my monthly spends reset today so I need to do my monthly review of what I've spent. It's somewhere between my targeted £200 spend and the £300 I allow myself from my wages to cover monthly costs (including food, car tax, clothes etc etc) This is where I can make money spare to overpay on the BC. I shall update tomorrow and look through my spending diary as we have a birthday party tonight!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Thank you W&M!!
I think the NSDs really highlight unnecessary spending. Give it a couple of gos and set reasonable targets and see how you do! I don't count bill payments and overpayments to the debts as these are all budgeted for and go out by DD do I don't even notice them. I just keep a hawk eye on my day to day spends! I've had to spend today to get a bit of food to last us until May. Means Ill just miss my 25 target for April but I don't think 24 out if 30 is too shabby!! Good luck if you give it a go and just keep plodding!!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000
