So it's Saturday, I'm attempting to have a lie in but failing miserably as I've been awake for the last hour and a half. Saw 3am before I fell asleep too
I've had a curve ball thrown at me at work and offered more money to go back to a department I used to work in which entails regular weekend hours and shift work with a mixture of days and nights. I changed about 18 months ago to Monday-Friday 8-5 which took some getting used to but now it's just great, especially as BF works practically the same apart from he has one weekend on and one weekend off over each fortnight. Do I follow the money or do I keep with the job I'm doing now which has more friendly hours??
I've had a feeling of unrest at work recently but the thought of a new job terrifies me a lot! I should just bite the bullet and apply to a couple of different things and see what happens. In the meantime though I think the really sensible part of me is saying I shouldn't be taking a step back to my old job even if it is for more money, the money hungry debt slayer in me is saying screw it go for it for a couple of years but I'm not sure the company will be as understanding as they were the first time around when I said I wanted to switch departments!! Aaaargh what to do what to do???Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

I'm not sure I could do it without keeping a hawk eye on everything I spend. I think not watching what I was doing is a big reason I have these debts!
Had a quiet weekend so far, been at work today for some overtime which will be in June's pay so that's something toward the extra £150 I'm trying to make each month for overpayments! Gave BF my credit card to pick up some salad at te supermarket last night so I'm on 3 NSDs for the month so far. Really struggled with my meal plan for this month for some reason, I'll need to have another look at it sometime this week and take a trip back to te supermarket. Think I was just trying to do it on an uninspiring day!! I'm really looking forward to being able to just do a weeks shopping without feeling guilty and not have to eat all the fresh stuff at the start of the months and then live from the freezer after that!! Time will come.
Just been for my third run of the week. Could have so easily not gone after working today but gave myself a talking to and put my trainers on! Slow and steady 3 miler but felt better than not going at all!! Another 3 runs next week for me!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

What a lovely sunny day it's been! Nipped out for a quick drink and lounge in the sun with my friend, she kindly got the drinks in so it's an NSD for me. Tidied a couple of shelves in the wardrobe, chucked some stuff out and listed a couple of items on eBay. Nothing that will bring in big money but a couple of quid is better than retiring the unused but still usable stuff to the bin! Guna have tea from yesterday's leftovers and go through another couple of drawers. I don't think I'm quite being brutal enough with all the clothes I could stand to get rid of

I have been pondering a bootsale, I'll have to go through everything and be completely honest with myself and just get rid!! I highly doubt anyone would buy some of the stuff but its worth a try! If it doesn't go first time I'll just recycle or chuck it.
Not much else to report, quietly pottering along, it's that awkward time as pay day draws closer but is still a week away!! It's my friends birthday outing this weekend, it's fancy dress but I've done it cheaply, just need to make sure I don't spend too much while we're out! I very rarely drink anymore so a couple of drinks and I'll be fine!!

So it's Saturday. I'm attempting to lie in again but have been awake since just before 8 - good job I was otherwise BF would have been sound asleep while he was meant to be at work!!
Going out tonight for my friends birthday, not in the mood in the slightest tbh, mainly because of how expensive the evening is going to be
I don't need to drink a lot so I won't, the night can just drag when you're trying to be so careful! Ah well, I've not been out in a while so I should suck it up and enjoy myself! Need to go for a run today too and one tomorrow as I've been using the whole "it's raining" excuse not to go since Tuesday. Can't miss my target of 3 this week, I just can't!!
No other news money wise, couple of items finish on eBay tomorrow, there will be no big bucks, a couple of pounds but yey to less clutter! Waiting for payday to come around on Wednesday!! Think I'll need to go shopping again at some point too as my uninspired planning at the start of the month is getting to that scraping the barrel point!!
Happy weekend everyone!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Eugh so I spent far too much on Saturday, felt all kinds of horrendous all day yesterday too
Gone are the days where I used to be able to go out all night and be fine the next day! Not happy with how much everything cost at all!! £10 on food before we went out and then £25 on drinks and entry into the club. Not a fortune but too much for my little money saving scrooge head to handle!! Don't think it helped that I popped into town on Saturday morning and topped up on some household supplies - saw one of those fancy mop was on offer at half price so I just had to have it. Plus side is I went home straight away and mopped my laminate flooring to within a inch of its life!! I was sweating my backside off!! More of a downside is I did not going running on either day which means I am a big fat chubby failure!! Need to make up the running deficit by going out 4 times this week and next. Just not quite that simple when it's peeing it down every blinking day!! Aaaargh moan moan moan!
My £225 budget for the month is not going to happen
Can't wait for it to be Wednesday either as Wednesday brings payday :j At least I can pay some things off and update my signature, literally can't stand the couple of weeks prior to payday where everything just stays the same!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Morning!
The fact that we get angry at ourselves when we spend is surely a testament to how far we have come....
Gone are the days when we could spend without feeling guilty:o
Somedays I'm glad it's as hard as it is because if it was easy it wouldn't be a challenge and I'm all for a challenge....
One more day until payday, I bet you can't wait:jSave £12k in 2025 #32Make £2025 in 2025 #28
