That's lovely! Nothing better than homemade bread! I try and make my own, but don't own a bread maker so just pure old fashion methods for me! Might put one on my Xmas list!

Morning!
That's great to get freebies, I've started looking a freecycle rather than amazon/eBay haha, I don't need anything in particular at the moment but it curbs my online spending habits for a while
I can't cook at all but would take a bread maker just for the smell of it around the house, it smells so homely :rotfl:Save £12k in 2025 #32Make £2025 in 2025 #28

I haven't used it yet as I've been at work all weekend. I've never actually made my own bread so we will have to see how it all goes! I love the idea of it though. My mum barely buys normal bread now. There's some nice looking recipes for garlic bread and other interesting flavours. Look at me getting excited about bread!! Hope all is going well HJ

Hi W&M,
Thanks for popping by. I decided to stay put and not go back to my old position, I left it for a reason and that reason still applies so a bit more money isn't going to make it all better!! It can't all be about money although there were a couple of times where I could have said yes just cos I could have paid debts more quickly! Going back to shifted work would have meant a big lifestyle change though and we're happy the way we are for now!!
My BF is an all or nothing kinda guy, he saved up lump sums to pay everything off and he also is the luckiest person I've ever come across with betting on football. Tbh I really don't like the idea of him doing it as I can see it potentially becoming a problem but he allows himself a£10 bet every month and he's over £1000 up so far hence why he's smashed through a lot of his debts! Like I say I really don't like it and he knows that. I'd be very prepared to cut him off if I ever thought it was becoming a problem. Think it's mainly because I'd never ever win anything cos I'm not lucky at all! It would just be wasted money to me. He's also turned into a complete tight !!!!, even more so than me and I thought I was terrible!! He wants to save for a new car now while I catch up to being DF and then we'll be saving for a deposit :eek:Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Freebies rock!! I've only ever used freecycle to get rid of a fridge we were replacing, it's such a good idea. Have you found anything decent or is it just the looking part that helps?!
I've had real pangs for an iPad recently - the 0% BT offer until April 2014 crept into my head and I thought it'd be a really good idea to get one. Managed to not cave so far but it's proving the most difficult want to say no to!!
I shall let you know how the bread making goes - with the machine you just chuck the ingredients in and it does it all for you, baking at its simplest!! That's what I'm thinking anyway...

Quick signature update - £180 fixed payment to BC has gone out and NSDs are now on 21, I'll be just short of my 25 target again but I'm pretty happy with over 20 NSDs in one month!! Nearly half way to my £3k target on the old BC too. Got to keep the momentum going!!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

For some reason today I thought I'd apply for a First Direct current account, it's gone to referral. To be fair there's nothing bad on my credit report other than perhaps too much available credit. Will see what they say, if I get the free £100 out of it happy days!! Plus you can change again after 6 months and get another £100!! Doubt I'll get it now I've said that!! I use Halifax atm and they will start taking an extra £5 each month if you use the OD and I tend to use £300 of it as it is interest free. First Direct do a fee free £250 so it'd be good if I could just swap it!!
Not spent anything for a while, my monthly spend card should be resetting soon so I'll get to see how badly I went over my £225 spend target

I managed to get one last month and I've got missed payments and the dreaded PDL's on my credit file so I imagine you'll be fine!
Have found all the reviews so far of FD to be true, customer service is pretty good! But I've just left natwest...where I have to say on the whole service is pretty bad!Getting myself back on track! Pay off debt and save deposit time!0 -

I seem to always get sent for referral, when I opened my last current account with Halifax I had to go into branch. I hear what you're saying about Natwest! I had my student account with them and they were awful at the start - I had to prove I was a student about 4 separate times as they were running my University (now there's a clue for you!) through UCAS rather than my parent's address I had used on my application so they didn't match. It was such a hassle to sort!! Saying that though I've kept my account open with no OD so I can use their little coin machine to pay in loose change!!
I have quite a few current accounts already so not sure if that will count against me... Meant to hear by the end of the day so we'll see!! Did you get the £100 for switching HJ??Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000
