I've just realised that was a totally lame diary post but I don't really have much to say! My head is full of house buying thoughts and they're all over the place so no point trying to make sense of them just yet! Just need to get things moving, need several yeses to all come together first so just trying to keep it in mind that nothing is or will be definite until we've got the keys!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Hi GW :hello:
Thanks for popping by. I feel I'm running out of steam a little bit with my DF journey but hopefully new potential house excitement will reignite my money saving ways! You have absolutely smashed through loads of your debt already - keep going like that and you'll be debt free in a jiffy!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Not too much going on once again (gosh I am boring!) Waiting for news of our HTB EL application, the agents have changed so we had to nip back up to the developer and resign a form. Our FA is hoping to get the app done and dusted before the MMR changes come in. Or that's what we've been told anyway. Just got to wait and see what happens I guess!
Had a couple of new 0% BT offers come through, one from Halifax and one from BC. There's also a money transfer offer from BC. Guna take that as a good sign that they both want my business!! I must be looking more appealing to them
Payday in 9 days, and this is the first month when I will be putting a sizeable chunk aside for house buying purposes! Need to pay off the £120 from my BC and then everything that's left will sit at 0% until November which I can live with. I've set my DD at a fixed payment of £50 so that'll give me chance to sort all the pennies we need for fees. Aaaaargh were actually buying a house?!?! Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Good luck with the application, you should be fine as you have made real progress on your outstanding debts. Remember people with higher levels of debts appear to be able to get mortgages without any real issues, so cannot see why you would be refused.0 -
Hi DFB30.
I've spent the last couple of hours reading through your diary and just WOW! you are so inspiring. I'm a tiny but younger than you (26 in July) and Have a large OD and CC to clear.
Also wanting/needing to save for a house fo me and my 4 year old. Living with my parents ATM, so most probably renting, although have been dating my lovely BF for 17 months so you never know. If things go well and I kick this debt thing, potentially buying.
Anyway, it's just so inspiring to see how quickly you can turn things around. well done you.xLBM- 01/04/2014

Interesting read - one question though: how does getting yourself a mortgage equate to being debt free? I'm confused.0

Thank you for the vote of confidence Poolie! My financial advisor got our DIP with an outstanding credit card balance of £2k and I'm under that so fingers crossed it all goes through ok
