How healthy / white are your teeth??:D

On a scale of 1-10, I'd say an 8.5. Why??

Sounds a bit like "I've smoked 40 a day for 15 years and it's never done me any harm". However, gum is not recognised as a killer admittedly. If the gum contains sugar it can't be doing that much good for your teeth. Logically speaking I can't see unwanted production of acid being to great for your stomach...also the artificial sweetners in sugar free gum can cause cancer...

Best stay in bed... the world is a dangerous place! :-)

Yes it's suger free. Show me some evidence that it's harmful and I may take it on board.

Sugar free chewing gum is actively GOOD for teeth.

Most have sorbitol, or better still xylitol as the sugar substitute.

These alcohol based sweeteners (No - not that sort of alcohol, but the .ol bit at the end of the chemical name means that it's one of the alcohol family of organic compounds) inhibit plaque formation.

Also, the act of chewing stimulates saliva.

When saliva normaly flows out of the salivary glands, quite a lot of calcium and phosphate ions within the saliva are taken back into the gland. If the saliva is stimulated - it comes wooshing out faster, and less can be reabsorbed. Hence stimulated saliva has more stuff in it that can repair teeth damaged by sugar. Which is why Wrigleys advertise that their gum should be chewed after snacks. It does help with the repair process (But even better not to have sugary snacks between meals in the first place!!)
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Was watching random things on youtube the other day, and came across an american girl, just chatting on her blog, and she has the most brilliant white teeth.

I emailed her, and asked what she uses, and she said Crest Strips, think i'm gonna get some from ebay now my other one has run out :D

She said she doesn't know what to talk about near the start, she seems very good at waffling and talking about nothing, holy cow she just doesn't shut up! lol

do crest strips hurt the gums or cause sensitive teeth? also, my teeth are not exactly in a straight line, is it possible to 'mould' it to fit them? thanks
