I have used VOCO (or voca, cant remember) from my dentist.

Firstly he makes a personalised gum shield for you, then a couple of weeks later your gum shield is ready and you have to put the gel into the shields and leave on for a few hours or overnight (check that out though).

The results were UTTERLY AMAZING, but did cost £280 for 6 applications to do at home. Each application lasted around 4-6 months, (i do now have applications left over because the sell by date ran out, so will have to by new ones).

Everyone commented on how white my teeth were/are, as opposed to the yellow like colour they were before.

This gives BRILLIANT white results, and i highly recomend it.

Can anyone comment on Britesmile? I don't know anyone who has gone through this professional tooth whitening process but there are always articles in mags about how good it is but what a horrible process. I would so like it done but am scared I will gag or else drip saliva (sorry to be so blunt!)and that I won't be able to go through with it and will lose my money!
Price is down to £295 in London or if you are going to USA the Britesmile spas are offering it for about £200. Done by dentists.

    Very popular in Goa...cheap too.
Not such a horrible process...they scale and polish first...then open your mouth with plastic bridges to expose the showable teeth, pad your cheeks and gums with cotton wool pads.
Paint on the peroxide solution than bring this UV lamp close to your mouth for 20 mins to accelerate the process. Repeat 3 times and you're done in an hour. Great results.
The only snag is that your teeth are "porous" for 24hours....so you can't eat or drink anything coloured for a day, or your teeth will stain.

I recommended this to a family member but she is a bit reluctant to use it because she has bridge work done. She is afraid it will discolour the bridge, can anyone give me some advice for her. Many thanks

It says on the box "Fillings, crowns and caps will not be harmed by Brilliant. Brilliant whitens natural human teeth only. Do not use while wearing dental braces."

    try smile brighter website:
    http://www.smile-brighter.co.uk/

i bought a his & hers tooth whitening kit and have to say that it's brilliant and it actually works!

i actually visited my dentist to get my teeth cleaned before trying it out and asked for his opinion (i actually brought the whole kit to him!!), he said it was fine and its the same stuff that they use in the surgery but they charge much much more. i thought he'd frown at me for being so cheeky but he actually gave me tips and everything! i have a wonderful dentist and now a whiter smile! (just gotta do the bottom ones now)
