Its good to see people finally paying attention to their teeth. For as long as I can remember, we British seem to have a dont care attitude when it comes to looking after their teeth. Ask an American their first impression of a Brit and they straight away will say we have dirty/crooked teeth.

Not a lot of emphasis is put on cleaning your teeth, whether at school or on TV. You see more shampoo commercials than tooth paste commercials.

If our pop stars, actors and even royalty (Prince William/Harry) have yellow teeth, then its not really setting a good example.

People often blame the government because of waiting lists at NHS Dentists but the majority of people would not need a dentist if the had looked after their teeth when they were young. A toothbrush and paste is affordable. Third world countries have better teeth than us and most of them live on £1 a day !

Apologies to anyone who is offended by my rant

You don't need to apologise to me!:T I was brought up to think that it didn't matter if you brushed your teeth- as long as I didn't have smelly breath for school it was okay. My dad still goes on about the fact that he has perfect teeth and has never been to the dentist- he may not need fillings and such but they a disgusting colour:o
Thankfully I changed my approach to oral hygeine, and am now making daughter understand the importance of it

Yeah I think its socially acceptable to have yellow, crooked teeth than to have garlic breath.
The thing is, its sooo easy to look after your teeth and most of the problems people have is due to ignorance.
Start educating them young and dentists will go out of business ! :rotfl:

Challenge of the day : Looking at the teeth of people around you now or on the TV (British) and see how many you can spot with good teeth (not perfect).

I recommended this to a family member but she is a bit reluctant to use it because she has bridge work done. She is afraid it will discolour the bridge, can anyone give me some advice for her. Many thanks

You shouldnt use whitening products if you have crowns as they will not whiten them and therefore appear discoloured compared to the rest of the teeth. I would love to try them but i have a crown at the front of my mouth :(
