I've been raving about these for ages but no one's bothered on here.

I have bothered :D , after reading your posts about them I ordered some, this is only my second day of using them so too early to say, but I have encountered a slight problem and wondered if I am doing it wrong.

I open the packets carefully that hold the top and bottom strips, but when it comes to lifting the actual teeth strip out, no matter how slowly or carefully I do it instead of the whole strip being lifted out in one piece, some of the strip ends up in pieces, and has broken away.

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

on the slit on the one side, break that slit up and down on both sides as to loosed one end, peel off the strip, only the middle will come away the sides will stay on, throw that away you dont need it.

Only use the middle intact piece if that makes sense

For those of you interested in the Crest Strips I would def recommend them.
I did not have very yellow teeth just wanted to brighten them for our wedding 2 years ago. Bought the Premium strips from ebay approx £15.00 at the time I think and used them as per instructions and so many people commented on my lovely teeth :D especially in the wedding pics.

I have since been on hol to USA and bought these is Walmart over there, about £5.00 there, have not had to use them yet as my teeth have never returned to the colour that they were.

I would say though that it did cause me some sensitivity so all I did was used them once a day for 2 weeks instead of twice a day for 1 week, that solved the problem for me.

They do say they will not whiten crowns, caps etc, but I do not have these (lucky I know).

Can anyone comment on Britesmile? I don't know anyone who has gone through this professional tooth whitening process but there are always articles in mags about how good it is but what a horrible process. I would so like it done but am scared I will gag or else drip saliva (sorry to be so blunt!)and that I won't be able to go through with it and will lose my money!
Price is down to £295 in London or if you are going to USA the Britesmile spas are offering it for about £200. Done by dentists.

I had this done in New York and it didn't work very well on my teeth at all, although to be fair I think most people are pleased.
I've since used the premium white strips from Ebay and they have lightened them considerably.
I've also used the gum shield from my dentist years ago and the gum shield you can buy in the chemist. IMO the strips have given the best results and are easy to use.
Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves

Cheers for that Gamma, I thought it was me ripping them lol, when I opened them I did notices the side bits came away from the middle, so there was me trying to get the middle and the straggly bits of sides on my teeth, ended up having the straggly bits over my lips.:rotfl:

Its funny thinking back, but not at the time, as my lips were stinging.

Did no one watch the news once? These so called tooth whitening stuff are harmful to your teeth, the reason why they whiten your teeth is because the top layers of enamel are stripped off leaving you with weaker teeth

Can you put this into context or state any source that suggests this... as I dont believe its factual.

Professional teeth whitening systems use hydrogen peroxide or hydrogen carbomide which are in effect bleeching the stains that become ingraned in the enamel of the tooth. The temporary sensitivity is caused by the aggrivation to the nerve as it passes through the dentine. Damage to the enamel will only be caused by physical wear or knocks.

In other words its not the teeth whitening process that would damage your teeth, its bad practise.

Hi I had it done by Brite Smile West 57th tel 212-397-8786 When I had it done they had an offer on so it was half price and I also get a top up anytime in the next 2 years, but for me it didn't work . They take a before and after photo and my shade hadn't changed. I didn't really notice at first because my teeth did look brighter. I did intend going back in to complain but didn't get the chance. To be fair I think most other people in there were happy. They put the guard on to protect your gums so it was a little uncomfortable and undignified, you can't drink red wine, coffee etc for 24hrs and I did have some sensitivity but a pain relief tablet will sort that out and it only lasted 24/48hrs.
I'm using the premium white strips I bought from Ebay and although it takes longer the results have been great and about a 10th of the price.
Enjoy New York it's a great city.

Yes doing what gamma says will solve your issue. It can be tricky at first but try avoid the gums, lips and your fingers as it will create temporary white spots.
