Kind of. Through a local magazine, I won a family ticket to a panto that ended up being postponed twice before being cancelled. When it was first postponed I was told to ring an 0844 line to rebook so that ended up costing me. Then THAT show was postponed and I had to go into town to rebook again so that ended up costing me too. Then it was cancelled altogether and I had to email the magazine about four times to see if they were going to offer anything else in place of the tickets, and when they finally replied, they offered me some vouchers to be used only on a brand of womens underwear in Debenhams
Not much consolation to my kids who'd missed out on the panto!!
I totally lost the will to push it any further so didn't press them for an alternative, but I wish I'd never won the tickets in the first place as the constant upsetting my kids and trying to rebook, made our pre-Christmas quite stressful!!!!
Oooooh..... rant over!!0 -
I never wish I hadn't won because I'm always very grateful for wins, but some of the vouchers I've won, when you look to purchase something with them, you find that the stuff is extremely overpriced & sometimes you need to add more money to get anything decent. I've found that happens quite a lot. Atm I have £150 of jewellery vouchers but know to get anything nice that I would wear it will probably cost me at least £100+
One win at Christmas cost me a lot as I won 50% off 2 items with DELL in the lucky star advent. I bought 2 identical good laptops so effectively got one free but I spent over £500! I didn't really care because I needed to buy a new laptop for the kids anyway as theirs had recently packed in & it was good to get the bonus free one & the win had come at the right time. I may not have used the voucher otherwise.
But yes sometimes I find that wins cost me!0 -
I won tickets to a festival that would have cost about £300 to actually use!

I won tickets an event in Cambridge but I was away that weekend for a friends 40th so I missed it (I gave the tickets to a friend but she never went!)0

I once won a private screening to a block buster movie for myself and 50 friends. I assumed it would be at my local cinema but it was in London so not much use to a northern lass! In any case I quickly realised I don't have 50 friends to invite (sad)!!! The promotors said they would redraw the prize - I thought they could have offered me a couple of tickets to my local cinema but it was my own fault for not reading the pages of terms and conditions!0

I entered a comp once that had about 80 prizes - various items including perfume, t-shirts, and the like. I recieved an email to say I'd won and was really excited.
About a week later they emailed me again to say my prize, a Louisianna Lounger, was being shipped from Germany.
GOOGLE Images it!!! (Warning: don't do it while children are around or if you are faint hearted!)
Couldn't give it to the school for their raffle *(although someone did suggest setting it up in the Head's office and charging 50p a go but we decided no-one would get a look in once the Head saw it), couldn't give it to the charity shop, tried Ebay but it was taken off. Eventually hubby took it to a certain shop in town and they bought it from us.
It did give everyone a good laugh and is still talked about in the staff room at work every so often some 5 or 6 years laterBiggest win: £10,000 from PepsiFavourite win: Handmade jewellery worth £1000ITV Winners Club Member #1Check out the ITV Winners Club in IWIWIWI shall write in ever decreasing circles until I have nothing left to say0 -
