sorry if this question has been asked before i searched the forums. one of my bro's stupid friends tried to unlock my d900i which was locked on to O2. Now it gets no network coverage and no sim works with the phone. it isn't barred as the imei number is still the original. some one off hotukdeals gave me this link http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=438779. Just could anyone help i stupidly sold the phone on EBAY...thinking the problem is easily fixable...now i am gonna get bad feedback lol..

    Kind Regards
as it says you will need to have the eprom reflashed

As long as you have a registered Vodafone SIM card, it can be done via code free of charge by Vodafone. If you send an email using the Online Contact Form, and put FIT135 anywhere in the body of the text along with the IMEI number, you should have the unlocking code within about 72 working hrs.

no free codes but you can do it with this s/w - you just need a usb-mini usb cable like on an mp3 player

    Hi guys

Not looking for a free unlock but some info please,

I've ordered up a Sony Ericson W850i from Great Universal for a decent price - only thing is I dont know if its locked or indeed which network its on (although it may be T-Mobile as it mentions web n walk).

I would like to use my 3 (3G contract simcard) in the phone instead of using my 6680 which was provided by 3 but I have never really liked.

    So ......

What if any is the best way to get it unlocked and do I need it unbranded so that it will work properly, I use it mainly for calls, some texts and receive a few emails and only occassionly go to the 3 site to download stuff or check latest sport.

Is a market stall ok for this or can it be done remotely or with a code and what price should I expect to pay for it to be done properly/safely so it will work on 3's network correctly.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

it will most likely be locked, a market stall should be able to do it for around £15-£30 (it all depends on the security on the handset). it will need to be done by cable and software

to get it to work properly on 3, it would be best to load a 3 firmware on it. you can debrand it, but you will have to enter all the MMS (picture messaging) and wap settings manually
