My sister gave me a sony ericsson k550i locked to tmobile, I just phoned an unlocking shop and they said it will cost me £45 to get in unlocked!!

I just took out an o2 contract to use in my new phone.

Does anybody know how or where I can get this done cheaper?? Your help will be much appreciated!

Try t-mobile, unless there is still part of a contract to run on it they should be able to unlock it for cheaper than £45

As long as you have a registered Vodafone SIM card, it can be done via code free of charge by Vodafone. If you send an email using the Online Contact Form, and put FIT135 anywhere in the body of the text along with the IMEI number, you should have the unlocking code within about 72 working hrs.

as long as your sister has been with tmobile for 3 months, get her to request the unlock code for you. it will cost £15 doing it through tmobile.

a local unlock shop will charge a lot as it is a phone with high security on it

sorry if this question has been asked before i searched the forums. one of my bro's stupid friends tried to unlock my d900i which was locked on to O2. Now it gets no network coverage and no sim works with the phone. it isn't barred as the imei number is still the original. some one off hotukdeals gave me this link http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=438779. Just could anyone help i stupidly sold the phone on EBAY...thinking the problem is easily fixable...now i am gonna get bad feedback lol..
