    Hi Emmy,

I'm sorry but I'm afraid you'll not find anything about the online V2/V4 tariffs on the EDF website as they are no longer available and haven't been since last summer. It's basically a case of if you're on them great but if you're not you can't get on them any more. If you're on EDF standard tariffs you may be able to make savings by switching - find out exactly what tariff you're on by getting the actual prices you pay for gas and electricity and then go to some of the switching sites and see what the best prices for your area at the moment and then compare the prices yourself to see if you can make a saving by switching. It's always better to work out the savings yourself than just trust the figures the comparison sites come up with as they are sometimes wrong. Good luck with it.

    Regards

    Michelle

    Hi Keefrto,

Although I agree with you about big companies not passing on reductions quickly enough and that anyone on a STANDARD tariff with EDF should seriously look into switching asap for those on their ONLINE tariffs they may well find that they are still by far the best prices for them (as I have.) The online prices, as I stated above, only increased once in well over a year so they have been consistently low. Also the comparison sites do not have these prices on them so people are choosing the wrong tariff to compare with and some are switching thinking they will be saving while unwittingly they are actually going to end up paying more so if you're with EDF it is vital that you are careful to check what tariff you are actually on and compare it against the best available for your area before jumping into switching.

    Michelle

i emailed EDF to find out what tariff i was on and got this back

Thanks for your e-mail, I can advise that You are on our online V3 tariff for gas and electricity this is one of our lower tariff rates and the unit prices are as follows

Gas in a 91 day billing period
The first 1465 KWH units are charged @ 2.68p
remaining KWH units are charged @1.762p

Electricity in a 91 day billing period
The first 225 KWH units are charged @ 11.60p
remaining KWH units are charged @ 5.58p

i can not find other supplier to come close to these prices.

are the price cuts with EDF going to apply to these V* tariffs?

    Hi Waynedance,

The V tariffs are the online tariffs that I've been talking about so you're really lucky to be on that as it's no longer available. At those rates I really can't see you finding a better deal anywhere as those prices are very good.

No the price cut will only apply to their standard tariff. The V tariffs virtually did not get put up so it stands to reason there won't be any prices cuts on them for the foreseeable future.

    Hi Gnid,

There are no online plans available to new customers now - I'm sure EDF would do electricity stand alone tariffs but I don't think they would be the most competitive. It's best to go to one of the comparison sites and find out who is cheapest in your area and how that compares to the tariff you're on at the moment.

    Hi BritBrat,

I'd suggest you go to the comparison sites and see what's best in your area too as those prices still look a little high - it's worth checking if there's anyone cheaper for you anyway.
