Confessions... :eek:
Have just completely restocked the freezer and found I'm already halfway through this month's grocery budget... not good as have a few more bits to get tomorrow! But am resolving to cook more and take lunches to work so hopefully it will work out.
Also must confess to buying the new Danielle LaPorte Desire Map Planner, because it looks amazing and I love the idea of something keeping me on track every day - I wasn't expecting this to come straight out of my account as I won't get it for a couple of months, but not much I can do about it now!
Other than that on track - and remembered to claim expenses

Evening petal - right back atcha
Moggies are happy and purry but the weather is obviously getting colder as I keep finding them sleeping on my feet!
I think a Christmas costs review will be called for but am refusing to do it til October. Might put up a Christmas SOA for input!

Hi It's Friday :T:beer::j
I've been thinking about a xmas pot.......:o
I have 0p in a xmas pot so need to start looking at that as only 3 paydays to go ....I think I might get 2 presents each payday to cover everyone.
Only have one Birthday to fund so I need to work out a budget 5 lots for xmas then 1 x December birthday.
I am so rubbish at keeping things and keeping this secret ...I get so excited I end up giving in advance then feel guilty at xmas so buy more.
I might add that to my goals to set a budget and stick to it...for once so thank you for bringing this up.

Hi Sam
I have about £170 in my gifts pot atm and there aren't really that many people I buy for at Christmas - the family isn't huge and there are several friends where we have kind of faded out buying physical presents and do something together instead. Work do a small Secret Santa and people often buy chocs for the office or make a charity donation instead of sending cards - and I'm quite glad of this as it's a lot less stressful as well as not pushing anybody to spend more than they can really manage.
Although, this year I'd like to budget for things like cards and stamps (and maybe even send them on time this year). I usually put £40 a month in the pot and that covers birthdays, new babies, flowers when I visit people, cards for special occasions, and anything else that's spending on pressies... but I think as I've been using it more for that this year, it might not completely cover Christmas. I might put the monthly input up a bit or maybe plonk in an extra £50 in Oct and Nov.
I do love having it set aside though as it means buying things for people is pure fun and doesn't get tangled up with any moneysaving guilt or dithering.
Oh and that reminds me, funnily enough the response from the Hotel Choc friend has been.... *whistle of tumbleweed rolling by* - so there's another present I don't need to buy :rotfl:
