Just tidied up YNAB again and all is OK. I decided to stop worrying about bringing forward a bit of my October paycheque for use in October instead of November - as there's no real need not to. That means I don't have to worry about scrimping through the rest of this month. Haven't spent much this weekend - just a bit of skincare stuff and coffee with friends. I must try and make sure I do cook now that I've got the freezer and fridge all stocked up!

Oh and I solved two issues in one - having cleared out my clothes there was nothing in the Ebay pile suitable for donating to the refugees in Calais, and I wasn't sure how much to give as a cash donation - so have solved the problem by taking the entire Ebay pile to the nearest Red Cross shop (including the vintage and branded stuff that should be worth something and that I've been avoiding listing for weeks and weeks). Money for them, successful avoidance of Ebaying for me :D

What a good idea to do ...you really have a lovely and thoughtful heart Rosa ... am sure it will bring you good Karma.

My latest CS pile is under the bed as I have one of those bedknobs and broomsticks style beds ..although it is on its last legs as it's not really the best quality and I have had a while.... ;)

I have had a busy day cooking everything from scratch then lazy afternoon nap.

I have been a bit spendy all weekend...

I brought some boots for £12 on sale from £30 so happy with that but hung on to receipt in case I change my mind (unlikely) but Plus one says they are bit like beetle crushers and was quite amused with them .... :p so it might have put me off them a bit ...:o

Glad to hear you had a good weekend I think it's always great to have a coffee out and a catch up

One day I will get YNAB ..lol just no brave enough yet.

  • Have just undone the non-spending with a huge Pepperb3rry order :o ... though a lot of it was stuff they don't have in the store so just to try on and may well go straight back. Have saved a whole £4 by getting it delivered to store which also means I can try it on there and have no excuse not to return :) . I do need to think about winter clothes, particularly work ones... should probably look through the underbed box to see what I've got.

I used to like clothes shopping... how come it's not fun any more?

That is a brilliant idea Rosa, and Sam, once you get YNAB there's no looking back. It's addictive.

I would love to donate mine and DD's clothes but money is sooo tight.

    Must get ebaying tomorrow.

    Thanks Tink :A

It's one of the nice things about getting to these last steps of the journey - a few months ago I wouldn't have felt able to do it as I would have felt so torn between wanting to donate but also needing to get the debt down. I am just beginning to look at what my life is like without debts to pay and it's quite an adjustment particularly combined with the new job. I found myself wondering what on earth normal people spend their money on :o:rotfl:

YNAB so rocks... we will convert Sam eventually (in fact I think you should send her a referral code ;))

Thanks Sam - glad you have had a chilled weekend and £12 is hardly outrageous for a pair of boots. Are you managing to feed Plus One ok?

I haven't got as much chores-type stuff done as I wanted but it was lovely to catch up with people and I don't have to travel this week so should be able to make use of my evenings.

    Hello lovely Rosa,

I do love reading your updates. Thank you for the link to the planner. Again, we've overlapped on something as I've had my eye on a Passion Planner as I love the layout of it. I'm trying to rejig a desk diary to include some of the things on the passion planner, but I'll probably end up treating myself for Christmas.

How did you get on with checking your student discounts? Is that all sorted?

Happy September to you! I hope it's going great and that you have some nice contact still with the lovely man. Also, let me know when and where this little trip with friends is and I'll be there!!!! :D

I think that was a great investment in working out if Hotel Choc friend was an actual friend. You know you did all you could and didn't get anything back, and as Sam put it so well, we all love you!

  • Errrr MT did you know you can download a pdf of the Passion Planner, so long as you share their website on social media?

    http://www.passionplanner.com

:D will be looking to see what it includes and maybe it could be useful for the rest of the year til I get the Desire Map one... I am feeling I need a little refresh, boost type thing.

EDIT: just realised it's supposed to be from Nov 16 and on FB, which doesn't work so well for me - will go back to the Desire Map book I think.

  • Hmmm, I know it's famous last words but things seem to have gone a little quiet here. All that excitement about holidays went to my head :D

I've managed to make lunches so far this week which has kept me out of the shops and limited spending. Viewing a house tomorrow afternoon but not sure it's what I want so we'll see.

I'm trying to continue slowly decluttering, even just a tiny thing every night. Removing the Ebay pile has really helped so glad I did that. Hopefully the right house will turn up shortly and I will be all set to go!

Oh My how exciting for you ...!!! :j Good luck with the viewing :D

Well done on the declutter ....:T....:T

I'm just ruthless when it comes to clutter but I do tend to pile up ebay stuff to sell... ( current pile of 20 items might make it to the charity shop)

Am at home tomorrow evening not at work so that will be a lovely change for me :o

Still don't know what to feed plus one...I think his mum must have fed him on icecream everyday..lol :rotfl:
