Balancing not just the budget

Thank you Rosa, I do know about the downloads and have them, but I prefer to have a proper diary to carry around. I've got a desk diary I'm currently working on adapting a little to fit the passion planner info so I can decide in December if I'll just spend some time adapting a plain diary or if I'll buy one! I'm thinking I'll probably adapt though as I can give it a more personal spin. It just depends on how long it'll take me.
Good luck with the house viewing. I hope it gives you inspiration at the very least.
Well done on minimal spending and making your own lunches! Can I move in with you for a bit and get some good habits too please?

House viewing has made me realise that I don't necessarily need to buy the biggest one I can afford (although it would mean I had space for MT :rotfl:) and wonder why some people have posh baths but don't fix the boiler.
I may also manage a fourth day of taking in lunches tomorrow which is a first in ages. Not an NSD as I did buy a coffee today, I was on a different site to usual so didn't have all my stuff around.
The budget is looking healthier than I expected, especially as I'm away with work part of next week so don't need much food shopping. I do really want to feel a bit more glam though so have booked a haircut (finally - can't even remember when the last one was) and will look in the Forgotten Shop (TM Sam) and the other shops on the weekend.

I did laugh at the posh bath ...totally agree.

Rosa I moved from a three bed house to a two bed flat and although I had to eBay a few bits I love having less space and it takes half the time to clean as well.
Well done on resisting Sam. I'm having to stay away from looking at items on there. Just trying to sell sell sell.

Well it's less than two weeks to payday and the budget looks OK so far.
I spent some extra on cat food yesterday - stocking up on wet food as they had been refusing to eat Butcher's so got the cheapest grain free pouches in P@H. Of course when I've tried putting out the Butcher's just to get it even vaguely nibbled they are eating it again  never mind. Also got a small bag of sensitive kibble for little mog as something has set her off again - hopefully that will help. Except that now I have to stop big mog eating her kibble and she has decided to eat the Butcher's I gave him... gah.
I decided I need to de-stress a bit as the new job is beginning to kick in. So I've booked myself a facial massage tomorrow as well as a haircut. And I've treated myself to new bedlinen - a whole £35 from Asda :rotfl: - but I really want just plain white and that was the best thread count and quality I could find locally so that's what I got.
I've also decided that I don't really have time for the language course I was going to do. I'm a bit sad about this as I was looking forward to it and the college are lovely, but I still have my other college work as well as a new job and a potential house move so I decided to leave it for another time. They've been very nice about it and I don't think I will be charged as I've dropped out before the first tutorial - that was the reason for making the decision now.
I'm feeling a little off track in some ways, and in other ways this is good as I'm focusing on more on the present and not worrying about things ages away. So am just going to plan as far as 1) do some studying on Sunday and 2) get through next week at work OK.. And try not to spend too much more :rotfl:

Hello Rosa,
Firstly, I don't take up much room, I don't eat loads although I do drink lots of squash! No need to worry too much about room for me, the floor or sofa will do just fine if I'm picking up great habits! I'll stay a year at the most!!!!
Seriously, definitely be kind to yourself at the moment. You've been giving so much and now the job stresses are here then it's your body asking for some you time, so it would be good if you could give yourself the right to listen to that.
I hope your facial massage and other pamperings have worked out well. Did you get your hair done?

OK MT well there is always a futon available - though be warned you may find moggies deciding to park themselves with you if you turn out to have warmer feet than I do
YNAB dutifully updated - I am over my planned budget for the month but away for much of next week, so it might even out. Only other :money: thing I can think of that I must do is call the car insurance as I think I will be well over my estimated mileage with travel for the new job.
I'm having a terribly antisocial weekend as tomorrow will be winter clothes shopping and an early night - but that's because I'm out with work twice in the week. Decided to be brave and go to the social stuff since you never know who I might meet

Yes Million per cent agree ....Hope the haircut went well and you are feeling amazing ..
I hate the boots now after one wearlooking like a emo person when out wearing them ...that's fine if goth /emo /biker is your style of choice but when it just makes you look like you have not updated your style since 1980 tis not quite such a good look ..
Never mind suspect they will sell like hotcakes on the bay of fleasGrocery challenge Feb £107/£100-epic fail due to cake and biscuits

Haircut went well, only downside is embarrassment at trying to make small talk with hairdresser I see about once a year :rotfl:. It is still growing and curls better again now it's trimmed.
I haven't dared try and find boots yet Sam - kind of dreading it as am so fussybut will maybe try in the city next week.
I did do very well out of a P3pperberr7 order - sometimes I love their stuff but the last year or so I haven't... but now it's back on track again :T. Got a summer dress in the sale, and three that will do over the winter for work. It's so good to be able to pull a dress on and not have to alter the front or constantly worry about leaning forward! Will be wearing two of them for the work social stuff which is fab as a bit of a confidence boost. Haven't added it up yet but not worried as that sorts most of my work clothes needs for the winter at a reasonable price.
I've managed to pack and sort my chores as well, but haven't managed to studywhich is a bit bad... I do need to get on with this so must try and get sorted later in the week.
Off to throw a last few things in the direction of the suitcase... including bath stuff in case the room has one
