You all put me to shame with your neatness stories. My issues are mainly that I have more stuff than places, but even so.... However, it's great reading those updates from you all as it gives me a lovely nudge in the right direction.
Rosa, I love your focus. I hope things work out with your campervan research.

Today I have mostly been curled up with my duvet either sleeping or reading and in the company of happy purring moggies :T
I pulled a sickie from collegeafter waking up late and thinking I could do other study at home. I haven't, but I do feel very much better and more chilled after a few extra hours sleep and just pootling.
I've topped up the freezer with emergency meals as I went past my favourite frozen stuff shop today, and treated myself to one for tonight as I have the new Brene Brown to read :j. Not completely :money:, but a LOT cheaper than takeaway!

Hands up for another neat freak here, although the house doesn't always look like it. I try to have a rule that each time i go upstairs / downstairs I take an item that needs to go in the bin or put away and do it - even if its just something small like a toilet roll for the recycling or wood glue to go back in the tool box. Working from home I do find it annoys me when I feel the house isn't clean / tidy to some extent (please don't use the state of the bathroom as it currently is as a yardstick though lol!) Funny thing is, the most 'lived in' room at the moment is my home office, it's not 100% sorted from brining things home from my old office block space and yet everyone remarks the room has a nice 'feel' about it. Perhaps I need to top striving for perfection / show home look and 'live' in the house a bit more.
Sorry Rosa - hijacked your thread a bit there.
Has anyone else watched Britain's Spending Secrets? I've just caught up on the second episode, some interesting conclusions - though i'm not surprised by any of them really.
Rosa - I know what you mean about feeling anxious when you don't know what you have spent or your tracking isn't up to date, I feel the same after so long on MSE (mine is just an Excel workbook).Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I thought I'd try looking at my end/ start of month YNAB budgets as they are now more important than payday. Did I just say that? Sorry, more relevant than payday - nothing ought to be more important in the budget than the main flow in!
August review
isn't quite as bad as I expected, though that wouldn't take very much as I was a bit  about the whole thing. It was a bit of a mess after the holiday. However, the cards are all cleared on current statements and it should be fully cleared on September payday. I did pay for a college related seminar out of this month's money instead of putting it on the college 0% card, and I topped up the freezer with emergency meals to avoid any excuse for takeaways.
Stuff that needs addressing:- I had budgeted for fitness classes I didn't go to, so must do that in future
- I've been charged extra for my mobile bill, I think this is using the data due to a problem with my landlline - so must get that resolved.
- Need to top the vet bills pot back up
- I should probably review the gifts pot as it may need a little extra adding to fully cover Christmas.
September plans
Overall September has my usual budget and there should be a bit of flexibility to swop things around within it. Paying off the holiday will require using some of the September paycheque money that would normally fund October - at present there is just about enough to cover the usual budget for October, but no extra. If possible, I'd like to stick with this so that October's paycheque doesn't have to be pulled forward iyswim.- Now that I have a student card again I may be able to get the student rate for fitness classes - this would be well worth doing as it's about half the price. Must check about that.
- I'd like to have a weekend away with friends but it needs to be cheap - will talk to a couple of people about options.
Not doing badly considering it's just after a rather disorganised holiday

Plans are looking good Rosa. I feel like I've taken two steps back with my non existent pay day but I'm sticking around to get sorted for next month.
