yay! 2/3 of the sports I do - are you my exercise twin? :D

I think I can only hope there... surprised how much I'm looking forward to it. I haven't really been exercising since I went back to college and if I don't soon it will show!

Isn't that the point of adventure?

Or is 'adventure' the wrong word?

Well I suppose you need a bit of stress in adventures, but mainly they're meant to be new and fun - and they aren't necessarily planned.

Maybe adventure isn't quite the word, but not going to worry about it til nearer the time!

Payday tomorrow and all being well, DF on the one after that.

How does it feel then, newly DF Sam? And btw, where is your new thread with its positive title for your new journey? (I agree with MT, you're past the issues of your old title now.)

    So close! :j

I got paid today and it did include my back pay which was a little bonus. I also realised why I have appeared to be skint this month despite spending less in some areas :o - I had budgeted my rent for next month out of last month's paycheque, instead of this one. Getting a little ahead of myself and confused at having a credit balance in more than one current account! :D

I have untangled it all now, and it means I did achieve my budget for the car loan from last paycheque and this one. I've now moved that money out of the main account so I can easily see how much is where - I want this off my budget eventually but can only pay £200/ month into the ISA, so am going to move it mostly into the T5B account to collect more interest while it waits. I now only have £650 left to pay! which should be doable from May's paycheque. So now 4 weeks to DF :T

Sorting that issue also means I don't need to worry about the extra costs of all my time at college this month - which is just as well. I'm already tired and am going to give up and live on takeaway for the next fortnight rather than try and do anything else. I have remembered to pick up odd essentials when I got food for the journey home but there is no way I will get to the supermarket or be able to cook as I leave so early and am back so late. Still, hopefully it's not for long!

No other spends to report really, although I've got another lovely LKB dress from 3bay for under £20. I need shoes to go with it so need to try and find an afternoon to look for those in the next few weeks. Oh and I can't find my last travel pass for college which is really annoying as I'm sure it had about £30 worth of journeys left on it. Hopefully it will turn up. I did save £5 on the next one by trying out the mobile version.

I thought I would be far more excited about this but I am so tired I'm just going to bed! I need to finish up an essay by Thursday but will do it tomorrow night after all, as I'm spent so long sorting money I have no brainpower left now anyway. I will be back more brightly later in the week!

Sleep well Rosa, you're doing fab - so nearly there. Do you have a Cook! near you or that you could order from? 'home made' frozen meals you can ping to heat up but 'better' than a takeway for you x

    Hello Rosa,

I know you may not feel it but you still sound pretty organised about everything. Don't worry about not being excited by certain events either as sometimes I think that along with tiredness it can all feel a bit unreal when you've been working towards a specific goal for so long. Once you get there it can feel a little surreal for a while. I tend to get excited too early, when I can start to see the light, and then way after when I walk into a shop and buy something and suddenly think "wow, I didn't even worry about how I'd pay for this". Maybe that's the same for you?

Sleep is so important now, as is good brain nutrition. Can you take some vitamin tablets these next 2 weeks due to the takeaways? My brain grinds to a halt when I don't get sufficient nutrition. Just a thought.

    Hello lovely people

Good point MT, I will pick some up vitamins tomorrow. I have cancelled a couple of days in college as I need time to process things as much as I need practise, so there's a little more leeway now. And thank you Kerri, I do have one nearby and usually have a freezer drawer full of their stuff, but the freezer has been filled with other things recently! I'll reshuffle the freezer and may manage to pop in on Sunday.

I've updated YNAB again and am pleased to see that everything's still OK. I bought myself a couple of things from Etsy which I was going to pay for with birthday and Christmas money that's been sitting in the Fun Money category - but decided there was no real need to distinguish them from other clothes and jewellery, as I'm sure I'll wear them. So the fun money pot is still there for when I want something with no sensible justification!

I finished my last college assignment yesterday but had to use the work laptop as my personal one is getting very slow and unreliable, and the referencing software won't talk to my ancient version of Office. I probably haven't done all the things I should to keep it running, so will look at that after exams, but I've also added a 'laptop replacement' category to YNAB. I'm looking forward to creating a whole new budget once I am DF... which all being well is now less than a month away!!

    Hello lovely people

    And me! :hello:

So how hard are you going to have to work in order to buy something with no sensible justification now? ;)
I finished my last college assignment yesterday but had to use the work laptop as my personal one is getting very slow and unreliable, and the referencing software won't talk to my ancient version of Office.

If you're going to buy Office, then buy Office now while you're still a student. The pricing is so much more attractive. IIRC all you need (apart from money [not Money]) is an email address ending .ac.uk.
I probably haven't done all the things I should to keep it running, so will look at that after exams,

As I said in another thread, put as much RAM in as will fit, and replace the hard disk with a solid state one. Reinstalling Windows also usually helps, but you will need to backup and restore your files if you do that.
but I've also added a 'laptop replacement' category to YNAB. I'm looking forward to creating a whole new budget once I am DF...

Rosa I do like Cook! food, we often get some at christmas (although our turkey came from Lidl this year in the end) and I blieve they are expanding their veggie range which will be good for OH.

You do sound very organised so try not to be hard on yourself, you sound very much like me at times and it took someone today to say to me you need to be a bit kinder to yourself' f' to make me stop and think I am my own worst critic.

So nearly DF - can't wait for the cheese and pineapple on sticks x
