Balancing not just the budget

So apparently my phone contract does not actually end when they said it would and they ignored my earlier request to cancel because it was too early  and I now have another bill coming that I shouldn't. Really p'd off. The customer service rep agreed to make the cancellation immediate but said that it would be confirmed by text, and was then cut off, and I haven't received the text... so will have to ring them again tomorrow. Sigh. I'm annoyed with them and with myself as even half the month will be £20 I needn't spend (I know it sounds a lot and not very :money:, but it was a good deal at the time for the allowance and the phone - just shouldn't have overrun).
I think I'd sort of forgotten how much money saving is about being organised!Still, at least I checked and have caught it sooner than otherwise.
Oh and 3 days to go...

Well there is now just 1 - one! more day between me and debt free. I am not working on Wednesday so will be able to do my account shuffles and all first thing.
I am still within budget except for a charity donation that I put on the credit card - I wanted to make it visible as soon as my friend posted rather than wait. Actually, I suppose technically I should add in the bill for the mobile phone  and I don't know how much this is going to be - I hope it will only be a few pounds but have now added the full monthly bill to the budget just in case. So I guess I am a little ahead of myself for the month, but I know it will all be resolved on payday.
I've also had confirmation through from the new energy supplier, although I don't yet know what will happen about the debt to the old one. That can also be covered within this paycheque though, so I might put money aside for it.
Feels like a bit of a non-event tbh :rotfl:my how things change!

Your last day of debt shackles...wow, you might not be excited but I am excited for youIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Well yes, the last day. I would be more excited if I had any extra money to play with in the coming month, but as I expected I will have to clear the electric bill in order to switch, and that will take up most if not all of the spare. Which is a bit of a PITA as I want to go away in June - and so if I do, it will have to go on the credit card for a couple of weeks and be repaid from June's paycheque. But the event friends are going to is only once a year, so it's a yes or no decision. Having no buffer means it doesn't really feel like I am free yet, I am still juggling.
I am also peeved to find that my pay has gone down by £50 following my 'cost of living' (hah!) payrise, because of the alteration to NI relating to pensions - basically the latter has more than swallowed up the former. I don't mean to sound graceless, obviously I am very glad to have a pension and my job, but it feels remarkably unfair given that nothing I did changed. Another reason to get fully in control and ensure that I have money put aside. And I am grateful that my situation is improved - at least now that doesn't cause me major issues, whereas it could have done before.
Oh dear that's all a bit solemn for a ZERO DAYS TO DF moment isn't it? Let's have some dancing instead

You will *always* juggle unless your wages exceed your ambition - which is unlikely. The difference is that you're not paying money out in the present for something that has passed.RosaBernicia wrote: »I am also peeved to find that my pay has gone down by £50 following my 'cost of living' (hah!) payrise, because of the alteration to NI relating to pensions - basically the latter has more than swallowed up the former. Which obviously you work for...RosaBernicia wrote: »but it feels remarkably unfair given that nothing I did changed.
This is not the first time this has happened for me. The previous NI rise also took all of my "fantastic" (at the time) zero percent payrise and more besides...RosaBernicia wrote: »Another reason to get fully in control and ensure that I have money put aside. Money is control. That's why "Debt is slavery" is such a popular sentiment.RosaBernicia wrote: »Oh dear that's all a bit solemn for a ZERO DAYS TO DF moment isn't it? Let's have some dancing instead
