I hope you've managed to sort out the skirt shipping now. That's pretty frustrating when that happens.

Do you know where you want to go away to? How long will you be gone? I love booking trips away.

Skirt is now on its way :) the seller sent me a PayP4l link in the end.

I'm going back to the same place as last year - just a few days, but with good friends and some potential new friends I met last time.

    Hi MT

I've been and come back and it was fabulous... still looking like this :D I spent time with wonderful people and danced myself daft and everywhere I looked there was amazing scenery.

I suppose I have to face up to YNAB later so thank goodness for you lot to hold my hand! Ulp! But so worth every penny.

    Back later :)

I did and I've had more good news since because I passed my exams :) so now there are even more future possibilities and excitements!

I still haven't caught up with YNAB though as I've been running around being sociable, and I'm dreading it! Will try to face up to it tonight...

So I've faced up to YNAB and confessed my sins _pale_ ... but it isn't quite as bad as I thought after all. If my receipt pile is roughly accurate (I haven't correlated it with bank accounts yet as entering the whole stack was enough frogs for one evening!) I am about £450 over budget, but that includes about £100 of work expenses which I will get back. And the £350 will be effectively cleared on payday, though of course the credit card will be cleared when due so the money can sit in MY account for longer :D. The only slight annoyance is that I'm technically overdrawn on my main account. This is because I didn't look at balances when I was away, panicked that the new one doesn't have an overdraft, and instead of looking like a sensible soul, just flung everyone on the main account :o . It will all be shifted on payday anyway, which is only Friday, and it's still within the interest free allowance so I'm not going to worry about it.

I got my DF badge :j and am unreasonably excited about it :rotfl::D:j

Holiday was amazing and I'm really pleased to have also passed my exams. This opens up all sorts of possibilities. The plan at present is to just take some time to chill and figure out what next. I won't be quite idle as I'm going to give myself a few weeks to sort out my flat a bit, now that I can ditch some old college stuff and be thinking what will be needed and bring me joy in my future :j.

Being back at work is a bit :( and I am still not back in the habit of cooking yet so eating stuff from the fridge and living on cheese on toast still. I will be visiting DIA's thread for inspiration :D

Hello Ms DF, glad to hear you had a fab holiday. It must feel amazing to be DF and to have passed your exams too. A very exciting stage of your life. Don't be too hard on yourself. You deserve not to be uber strict for a bit whilst you think about your next step :)

Well done on eating the YNAB frog and realising that you've got things under control.

Congratulations on the DF badge! I think we should print these off and wear them as real life badges! :D

Even more congratulations on passing your exams. You absolutely deserved to with the level of commitment you put in. Really pleased that paid off for you.

    Happy new life chapter.

    Thanks DIA and MT

It does feel very much like a new chapter. I've just completed a YNAB marathon to get all my accounts to match, and play with my budget. I'm still not sure I quite understand how YNAB sorts the credit card payments, but it all seems to work - I have had to cheat by putting an expense payment as due today to see how much I will have for next month, but I know I will get it so that's fine.

I am a bit stunned to find that it looks like I can clear my holiday bills on payday and still have almost my usual budget for the month left. But obviously very happy about it! There isn't a lot of extra left, but I am thinking of doing Ebay sales this month so perhaps it will motivate me to do that and start stashing some money aside. I do think there will be changes coming, even though I'm not sure quite what or how, and I feel that some spare money would be good. So I won't be going bonkers with any spare cash... far from it, I find myself looking at potential spends and thinking 'but that would feed me for a day if my situation changed'! Plus I am beginning to feel inspired to aim for MFW status, even if I haven't actually started with the M yet!

My local friends all happen to be away this weekend, so I'm thinking of having some quiet time to read and declutter. And possibly just some walking and daydreaming to begin scripting this next chapter :)

So it's all good here - I hope everyone else is too
