Balancing not just the budget

Well I have the app sorted today after all, which is good... but I did it sooner because I lost my credit card and was worried I didn't have access to a working account, which is not so good! I think I dropped the credit card when juggling things as I got onto the bus today, and fortunately I realised as soon as I got off so called and cancelled it straightaway. So a bit of a nuisance, but no actual loss. I have now also sorted the accounts and have YNAB all straight so I know where I am.
I bought another dress... happened to walk past a huge Oasi5 with a sale on, and found one I loved but which was just too small so I've ordered the next size up online. It was less than half price and although it's not as if my wardrobe is empty of dresses, there are several that have become a bit joyless (as DIA puts it) so I think it's now time to let them go. Two are just not quite my thing any more, one I adore but it is nylon and has gone a bit baggy and bobbled, and there are also two cotton dresses from last year that got stained with excess dye when I put a new top in the wash without thinking  - I have tried stain remover and washed them another half dozen times but it isn't shifting so I think they may have to join the fabric pile. I don't think the others are worth putting on 3bay so they can just go in the charity bag. I do have a bid already on one of the items I listed last weekend though
.
In decluttering news not much... I stopped in Muji wanting more of their multi hangers but the branch didn't have any  so that will have to wait for another trip to the city. I'm looking around to see if I can spot anything that I could do in 40 minutes or so but may just leave it for today and go to bed with a book.

What where you juggling and why?
Work laptop bag and shoulder bag, which I was trying to keep closed to avoid losing the mobile :rotfl:I was the last person so instead of putting things away I held onto the receipt and card as I went up the stairs... and I think I dropped it either then or when I piled things onto the seat.
The new one's arrived today anyway with no bother, so that's fine.

Ooh thanks Sam, I'll look for that in Wilko's in the week.
Maybe we are getting possessive about our expenses money finally... there is no sense in scrimping everywhere else and leaving lots of money with other people! I've made separate claims for things this month rather than it all piling up, my boss is probably wondering what's going on!

Well now that some of my expenses are turning up YNAB tells me I'm doing OK - in fact if it's correct, I may even have enough spare to buy the laptop without using this month's paycheque! I don't quite believe it so will put it on the credit card anyway - that way it will be cleared within a few days whatever happens. I had a look at some in a local Curr7s and may just get one from there - I know it's probably not the best value way of doing it, but they aren't as overpriced as they used to be since they now know they have to compete with online, and it's convenient for me in both getting it quickly and sorting anything that goes wrong.
I am still thinking about setting up a new budget but not quite sure how it would be different to the old one except for lacking the debt categories, so I may wait a while. I've already added lines for replacing the car and laptop (that one can be small amounts as it won't be needed for ages if I buy a new one now) and a buffer fund. Wondering how it will feel to be able to dish out money to all of those!
My Fire TV stick arrived and it's FAB. I waited til Pr1me Day to order it, which was worth doing as it cost £20 instead of £35. Plugged into TV, and it's so easy even I had no bother at all with using it straightaway. I watched two movies, then thought to check my broadband limits today and was delighted to find that it's unlimited! Can't remember if I originally booked that or if it's happened on their recent switch, as apparently they don't do limited packages any more, but either way it's very good timing for me. I will have a go at using iPlayer in the week and can also now cancel the TV licence. That should bring in a little money, as I think it's paid for 6 months in advance - completely mad system a bit like CTax used to be, but in this case I suspect the fee will die out before the arrangement gets changed.
I had a sudden urge to rearrange my living room on Thursday night and am really pleased with the result. As the TV doesn't have to be plugged into a particular place any more I have changed the layout and it looks so much better. I was intending to do more today but woke up with a horrible head cold and have spent most of the day asleep. It's going now so hopefully I will be OK to do stuff tomorrow.
I think I'm going to need some new things to track as I move to different aims... my Age of Money is now 33 days, so we can see what happens to that. I could track the pots as well, but I'm not so sure that's worth doing as really I would just juggle them if anything needed dealing with. Perhaps the buffer fund would be the one to watch!
Hope everybody's having a good weekend

Well on second thoughts it looks like I do need a licence for iPlay3r... as apparently the rules are changing in September. Oh well. Will see how much I use it.

The new "licensing" arrangement only applies if you watch BBC stuff. Obviously, you can watch the American shows on some other channel (including US), and repeats by buying the DVD box set in an Amazon sale. It just depends on how you value the last 0.5% of their content which doesn't fall into either of those two categories.
I'm unsure how they will enforce it though. Will they take their list of "unlicensed" properties, trawl the ISPs for their "unlicensed" customer databases, and then monitor iPlayer servers for "unlicensed" IP addresses?
Or will they take the iPlayer server logs, collate a list of IP addresses which use it, then trawl the ISPs for the addresses of those people and cross-reference those with "unlicensed" addresses?
Either way, its a hell of an invasion of privacy, and illegal - which will delay them for 0.1 nanoseconds."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Hmm, will see how much I use it. I did suspect the licensing situation will change soon.
Thanks Z

Just dashing in to report progress so I remember I'm getting somewhere!
- Two 3bay sales, one posted today and one packed ready for posting in the morning. £20 minus fees into the bank.
- Left work early and dropped off some big stuff to a charity shop, as I already had it in the car.
- Reorganised another section of the living room and it looks fab. Hoping to get another done tomorrow.
- Saw my landlord and he's agreed to everything I asked for with some small updates to the flat. I may have to pay for a couple of these eg a new bathroom mirror but that's OK as it's still much cheaper than moving anywhere else round here. Besides, when I have finished sorting this place it will be lovely
- Wore a dress I'd forgotten about today and it was great.
- Both new dresses arrived, I haven't tried them on yet but suspect one hit (sale from Oa5i5) and one miss (3bay, nice dress but it's jersey and looks much more washed and worn than the pictures suggested - probably not worth disputing though. It will last a season but probably not more).
- YNAB up to date
And I've had the door open all afternoon so that I can smell the jasmine in the garden.
