I love the last line of your last post. I can almost smell the jasmine.:)
Sounds like you are doing nicely on the home organisation front and well done on getting the landlord to do what you need doing
My TV has been on the blink since last year and for the past few days the picture is only 2/3rds present and the aerial is taped together. When it finally goes I am going to take a break from TV. I had years without TV and I loved it. So no TV holds no fear for me
Hope your week is going well

I am enjoying watching things at the moment, as I'm finding things I really like and they are a reward in between doing other stuff. I think it will probably wear off though and balance out a bit, as I'm not really in the habit of TV either.

I'm reminding myself to do things bit by bit and try to stay in balance... something I so easily forget despite the thread title
.
The decluttering is good but is taking up a lot of time and I think I'm going to slow it down a bit. There is no hurry. I have a goal of making the place presentable by late August and properly sorted by late September, so there's still plenty of time. Today I reshuffled the bookcase with all my college stuff and did a few other little things that have helped round stuff up into the right area, even if it isn't sorted through yet. This is what seems to be working this time - I know there are still certain piles or boxes that will need to be gone through later, but I'm getting the overall plan done. I hope to pretty much finish up the living room tomorrow and then I'll move on to the kitchen. That just needs some cupboards rearranging, although one of them is the damp and horrible Cupboard of Doom _pale_ ... then again I already chucked out a lot of stuff from there and put a new dehumidifier in, so perhaps it won't be so bad.
I have a new laptop :j it's a thing of beauty and should do for everything I can predict wanting and probably more. I've spent rather more than I meant to, but it is for the new work not just fun so I don't feel it was unjustified. My budget this month will still be OK, I think - it does mean I can't put money away from this paycheque, but I will be able to repay that to myself when I get the pay through for the new work. I guess this is a first lesson in cash flow :rotfl: and it's also reminded me that I will need to have a different category for the new work in my new budget.
I was right about the dresses and the 3bay fail is an expensive one. Unfortunately it's my own fault - I paid buy it now while reading on my phone in a hurry and didn't note the seller's statement that 'used' items are not new or nearly new, probably because my phone randomly refuses to show descriptions properly. So I don't think it's fair to try and return it. I also think it's more used than I would ever have tried to sell, so it's probably off to the charity shop. I tried it on again today and the stretch in the jersey has gone which makes it really too big on me and the pattern isn't great either. I'm annoyed as that's £30 completely wasted, but have decided there is no point letting a joyless dress clutter up my wardrobe, so I'm just going to set it free in the hope that it might bring somebody else joy instead
.
I have been eating very badly as I've spent too much time in the evenings decluttering. So tomorrow will include a trip to Wa1trose to stock up. I also need to catch up on some of the admin things that had got very behind - so today I booked an osteopath appointment and the cat's vet trip. I also need a haircut, a dentist appointment (still) and to book the car's MOT and service. It's non stop glamour here :rotfl:
Balance, balance... a friend is coming round on Sunday to help me with some garden stuff and I'm really looking forward to my trip away in August. Planning to book myself some time in September too.
And it's past my bedtime... hope you've all had a good day and enjoyed the sun!

Hi Rosa,
Does the seller accept returns? does it say on the listing? - if they are a business on 3bay they have to as its got to be fit for purpose - feel sorry for you, might be worth a quick message the worst they can say is no. Up to you if you don't want the stress.
£30 is quite a lot to lose IMO - they might meet you half way as in partial refund?

Wow - £30 I'd be asking for a refund, for a few quid I wouldn't have bothered.Sealed pot challenge 822

Thank you Sam and Dawnybabes - I am wondering whether to message the seller. Part of the problem is that I don't really like the dress, but it is also distinctly lower quality than I have received for the same brand at around that price before.Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

Not much happening here - another bookcase sorted, and going to do something with the garden tomorrow.
And loving the new laptop - have been flipping it to tablet mode to watch TED talks this evening

I should also confess to being waaaay over budget this month due to the laptop, an osteopath appointment and going to Wa1trose while hungry
How it gets handled will mostly depend on when the laptop payment shows up on the credit card statement. It will be OK regardless, but may mean that I need to effectively borrow from savings pots if the payment is due this month rather than next. I suppose I could leave it to carry over instead but I now really resent paying even a tiny bit of interest when I don't have to :rotfl:

Just realised actually the osteo bill is OK - I have a health costs savings pot I had forgotten about. Well done MSE and YNAB, guess I am learning something after allDebt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress
