Interesting you should say that :D

One of them has moved departments and I'm not likely to run into him very often :( and he didn't even say hello at the last meeting we were both at, which is a big departure from the last time I saw him and he pelted into the room to chat. Dunno what's up there but most likely nowt to really do with me so will just see what happens.

The other is the one I thought I was getting encouraging signals from (we have been saying hello and waving across the office to each other even since I started going into that office, even though we have no joint work and don't really know each other), and I decided I'm just going to take up any possibility of being around him now, even if it does become obvious to everyone else. He'd already suggested weeks ago that I could use the desk next to him so this week I did :D and got slightly surprised looks from his colleagues :rotfl: and hardly any conversation out of him :( . However, we are at the same all day meetings for two days this coming week so he has not escaped yet :rotfl:

  • Right I have been thinking and here are a few thoughts I must remember.

I don't think I want to buy this flat. The timing is all wrong when other things are changing and it would be a fallback option, not a positive choice. I still haven't heard back from the landlord and by this point it is getting silly as I am still going to apply for the job that would mean moving in August.

I think I can cope with moving to another rental if necessary in the meantime. There aren't that many with pets allowed but I found a few even on a quick search and now is a low period.

I do want to prioritise that training scheme job application. I've been offered some fantastic support and have much more info than last year, so I have every chance of making it. I can't see where else I would want to go from my current job and I will get bored soon otherwise.

I have been spending a bit more than ideal, partly because I've got fed up of scrimping for the house purchase costs that have never come. Nothing drastic but need to be a bit more sensible.

I want to do some proper shopping and revitalise my wardrobe a bit. I chucked out a lot of stuff last year and need to replace it.

I have half an online dating profile done and a half price offer so need to take this up on payday. Please remind me so I don't wuss out of it.

I think I am growing out of some of my friendships, and need to think this through some more.

I was having a really grumpy day, and annoyed that I volunteered for a meeting on my TOIL day tomorrow and hadn't sorted anything for the weekend...

and then I saw on FB that Elizabeth Gilbert is in the UK and was grumpy that I'd probably missed her...

and then I checked and realised I can do my meeting in the morning and they still have tickets so I'M GOING TO HEAR ELIZABETH GILBERT SPEAK TOMORROW EVENING :j:T:j

and that's AFTER I spend the afternoon shopping because having decided I'm not buying the flat, I can stop scrimping and sort out my winter wardrobe :) ... oh and buy a Kindle so I can read EG's new book, once the new Paperwhite 3G comes out!

So now I'm happy and have remembered that the universe works when I let it. I debated trying to persuade friends to come along and decided against it as I will have a really nice time just shopping and wandering and thinking anyway, and the event is seated... and besides I might make new friends there anyway.

    :T

Right I have been thinking and here are a few thoughts I must remember.

I don't think I want to buy this flat.

Then you don't. It's a big investment and you have to be all for it. Housing market being what it is, it would tie you down tremendously.
I think I can cope with moving to another rental if necessary in the meantime. There aren't that many with pets allowed but I found a few even on a quick search and now is a low period.

Then get to it before it becomes a high period.

So what have you done to prioritise it?

So which half of you are you sending on the date?
I think I am growing out of some of my friendships, and need to think this through some more.

    In which way?

I feel a whole lot better for having just decided to say no. Even though in some ways it would be great, it's the wrong time and I would just feel (and quite probably be) trapped.

I need to have my meeting tomorrow to get some info on what's happening with the job and where I may need to travel to. Then I'll email any that look worth viewing.

Meetings booked with study buddy and work mentor every 2 weeks,. Will also do something on the weekend. Must book some time to make phone calls as now won't be doing it tomorrow afternoon.

The sane half that has a clue what to say.

Well I don't really see the Drama Queen any more, which is partly being low on his priority list, partly laziness, and partly realisation that he often just irritates me.

There are a few more friends I don't really see because they now have kids - but I didn't see a lot of them anyway.

I'm spending my free time either by myself (which doesn't bother me but isn't helpful in meeting men) or with other single fabulous women, which is ok in some ways but unhelpful in that I think they have kind of accepted the label and expect to stay single. I'm not ready to do that.

I need to a) stop doing silly work time, b) book some leave and c) arrange well in advance to see my long term non-single friends instead of meaning to ring them and then realising I've been out of touch for months.

Too much feeling. It's a decision that has to be made with the logical part of the brain - it has too much of a long-term impact.

You have half?! I think I struggle to muster up 7% of me that's like that...

And indeed why would you want to be seeing him after that list?

No reason why you should. Is there any reason they wish to remain single?

    Yes, I do :)

I don't know that they wish to remain single - I think it's more a case of preferring to accept it and make plans on that basis than actively try to change it.

  • Bills paid and the total is £8,550 which is a couple of hundred quid up on last time :o

This is partly due to the shopping trip but also due to STILL not having been paid properly :mad: - I reckon they owe me about another £400 but need to get my paycheque tomorrow to try and sort it out. So not feeling too guilty.

It may also include £99 for a winter coat which I think is going back. I do need to work on my winter wardrobe so will leave a bit of flexibility for this in the next few months, and also I need some money for a social life since it is picking up a bit.

Talking to director tomorrow about potential work options and hoping this will all get sorted out in the next few weeks. Fed up of being kept hanging.

I haven't been keeping track of things very carefully recently which is some ways is cheeky and in other ways is actually working OK as taking my focus off money means I haven't been thinking about it and itching to spend. My social life options are pretty cheap anyway :rotfl:
