Happy Birthday Moggins - here's wishing you a wonderful year ahead!!!

And happy day to anyone else who is celebrating

Hello to all here, and all who follow. Hugs in abundance for thoes feeling low.
And to thoes affected by yesterdays earthquake, I hope you managed an extra special lie-in today.

Not much going on today. Have decided to take camera out with me today to see if I can get some new photos. Will post them tomorrow if I do. (If you missed them yesterday, they are on the daily thread, post number 57 on page 3).

Have decided Im going to get rid of my old (OLD) fridge freezer and get a new upright fridge and a new upright freezer. I find I need more freezer space (especially since getting the slow cooker!) so guess what Ive got planned for LordGrim next weekend??? Well, it is a bank holiday - its traditional to go to DIY stores, isnt it?

In the mean time I must make more of an effort on the housework. Will try to get it done this week - BEFORE I turn on the TV or the computer! WISH ME LUCK!

Will check back again later, to see how youre all doing.

    LG

    Hi Everyone

    Happy Birthday Moggins

I have 2 loads of washing on the line & am 2 hours in to sorting my study, so rewarding myself with 10 mins (an hour) on here!!
I've sorted 6 shelves, I decided it was better to start at the ceiling & word down, so the floor is still cluttered.
I'm filing as I go & sorting my books into various piles, any that are half decent I'm putting on Amazon, the rest I'll take to local charity shops.

I'm cooking roast pork with roast pots, yorkies & veg & rice pud for afters, we'll eat about 5 or 6 as we had a huge full english for brekkie at 10.

I've cooked a gammon joint for sarnies next week & some weetabix brownies.

Back to tidying for me now,I really need to get one room in the house organised.

    Hugs Hester

Hi everyone - I made it back again

Just put the garlic bread in the oven so I thought I'd pop on here whilst it cooks. I got 2 loads of washing done & line-dried yesterday, one and a half loads are out already with some bedding waiting for space on the line. I've weeded half the veg patch and will finish after lunch as I want to plant out the DDs purple sprouting broccoli which they grew from seed.

DH is back late this evening, so I'm cooking a roast later, which he can have cold or reheated when he appears - serves him right for landing me in it all weekend AGAIN :p As the weather is set to get worse later, if I can cut the grass at the front too, I'll be really pleased. The DDs and I are going to get out the footspa and pamper each other after the roast, whilst we watch Corrie. I've trained them well :rotfl:

Hugs to those in need and have a great day everyone

    Morning all!

Funny Churchmouse youve got a nice day in Eltham but its cloudy here across the water??

Well you know what they say * the sun shines on the good!*:rotfl: :rotfl: :p
    It's still lovely here Shez:D

I really wouldn't believe shop mirrors, they all lie! I'm with twink, don't believe the hairdresser ones either, they always add 10 years and loads of wrinkles to my youthful good looks:rotfl:

Have done loads of washing which is drying at an amazing speed, so the ironing pile is growing by the minute:eek: Suppose I should start it very soon, but it'd be impolite not to have a little surf around now I'm here.;) Mum always said manners cost nothing:D

    Bye for now,

    Good afternoon everyone :D

    :bdaycake: Happy birthday Moggins :bdaycake:

What with DH still doing his exams (next one tomorrow) and me not having access to MSE at school (damn web-filtering system ;)), it seems that I struggle to post on here at the moment! Anyway, I'm supposedly "planning" for next week at the mo - hence why I'm on here! :D

I've done a bit of shuffling around of money - I've managed to extract all the cash that I need for my car from different places, so that's tucked away until I need to pay that bill in June. I've remembered to pay the council tax online, erm and I've done a couple of surveys. I WILL get round to the planning in a minute......... honest.

It's actually been quite a tough week at school. The class that I've taken over apparently didn't have many boundaries set by the previous class teacher. The Assistant Head told me that the main thing that they were looking for when I taught the interview lesson was the behaviour management (ie I wasn't afraid to tell someone to stop messing around, even though I was being watched by her and the Head). The class have been really testing my boundaries and it came to a head on Thursday when I was at the end of my tether. :o Who would have thought that 7 and 8 year olds could cause so much grief. Anyway, the school have been lovely about it, because of the fewer boundaries set by the previous teacher.

The parents are SO supportive too, which is lovely and it's something that I didn't have in my previous long term role. So, that's staff AND parents being nice. It's just a shame that with falling rolls there won't be room for me in the school from September. :( There would have been a redundancy if the teacher hadn't left at Easter.

My "boys" did me proud yesterday. We had some of the scrums right in front of us, which meant that we could see some of the illegal acts performed by both teams. I know it's dangerous, but some of the moves by the opposition were just terrifying. No wonder the Argentinian prop was getty stroppy with his opposite number.

Speaking of my "boys", the coach is leaving at the end of the season to go back home to Australia and I'm getting quite tearful about it all! Someone had requested "Waltzing Matilda" at the end of the match and I was in floods! Maybe it's because I'm jealous  :rotfl: Oh and apparently, when he left the club as a player, he asked the board to "look after my club". Cue me weeping uncontrollably on the terrace. :D DH just puts up with me now!

It's a year ago today since my grandpa died and I'm feeling quite tearful about that too. Goodness knows what my mum is feeling. :o

Lunch today was carrot & corriander soup
Supper tonight is steamed salmon with new pots and veggies.

Have a good day everyone

    Afternoon :hello:

    Happy birthday Moggins :bdaycake:

Been to church, bought a birthday card for my sister, picked up this year's Proms Guide and stocked up on a couple of multipacks of tights. I am quite pleased with myself as I didn't buy anything which wasn't on the list :D

Cleaned the kitchen thoroughly yesterday and it is now gleaming :D Am going to have a good ol' blitz of my bedroom today, just as soon as I can be bothered to move :p:o - I'm currently lounging on the sofa drinking cranberry juice and watching Zoo Vets repeats on Sky Three :D

MushyPeas, I sympathise with your lack of a fridge. Mine is currently not working properly :( so I am planning to make a fish pie this evening to use up the milk before it goes off (and some spuds which are starting to go to seed). Will do a batch of curried parsnip soup as well, as the parsnips are shrivelling up on the veg rack :o

Haven't really eaten today yet, so just off to make myself a sausage sandwich

Hope everybody's having a lovely Sunday - see you later

    Love Rzl xx

Hi – been quiet today, haven’t I? Decided to re-arrange my kitchen. Why does ONE new kitchen gadget involve having to do this? I’m talking about my BM – which I love – but has not been looking quite right where I originally put it! So, every single cupboard, drawer etc has been re-organised. DH’s moaning now because he’s washing the cars and can’t find anything! What this really means is ‘where have you put all your GOOD cloths and dusters?’ I’ve given him a bag of the ‘no-longer-useful-to-me’ ones! I should be kinder – he’s doing my car as well! Well, just stopped to check in but kitchen awaits – it all needs to be put back together now and dinner looks increasingly like something very very simple! Have loads of washing on the line; weather has been beautiful. Thanks CRAZYCHIK for eBay advice – whether I’ll EVER get that organised is another matter but I will definitely do it your way next time! My way was a nightmare! I want to list several more things this week so need to get a grip on it! CSARINA – poor you having to part with a dresser; my DH made me a beautiful one years and years ago and I would hate to have to part with it. Hopefully, it will find another good home so you’ll feel better about having to let it go! I suppose somebody else will eat MY bit of the lamb, won’t they? ! SAMSAM – brilliant advice re Chinese food!

Anyway, I must go now – will look in later. Hope everyone (and their families and pets) are well.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

    Afternoon all,
Hope you are all well, if not, here are some *hugs* for you all!

Not been on for a little while as have been really busy! 2 days supply and on one of those days I also worked my other job.... yes I was mad, but it's money and I managed to get some good yellow stickered stuff in Sainsburys at Newhaven on my way home from my 2nd job! Been working all weekend at my 2nd job, got in about an hour ago and am slowly working through things I need to catch up with!

Have 2 more supply days booked up but first of all I have 3 days with no working, so am going to do some work on the spare room (of doom) and see what I can clear from it.... we are looking at starting to paint it on Bank Hol Monday, but who knows if I can manage to get it ready for then!! OH had a week off and we have decorated the hallway and bathroom in that time, good going eh? Maybe by the end of May we'll be able to pop this place on the market?

Not sure what we'll have for tea tonight, am really shattered but we don't have anything to just throw in the oven, ugh! Well I *could* do grilled chicken breast with roast potatoes and veggies.... yup, I think that'll be our dinner sorted!! Have banoffi pie for afters, I promised OH I'd make it for him, was his birthday on Friday and I haven't been able to afford to get him anything so have been cooking him treaty-bits instead!
