it's getting to be a bit of a habit this - lounging around in my dressing gown, MSE browsing whilst OH goes to work! Ah well, isn't that what weekends are for?
Yesterday I managed 3 loads of washing (line dried cos the weather was perfect), a huge pile of ironing, a quick hoover round & a quick trip to Tesco for some essentials.
Today is much the same, some washing to bung in, and I am determined to reduce my ironing pile to zero. Plus the back bedroom has been a dumping ground in the last couple of weeks, so that needs a sort out too. I'm waiting for OH to liberate some bin bags from work to put it all in.
Haven't decided about tea yet - maybe toad in the hole?
Moggins have a lovely birthday, and I hope all the rest of you have a nice relaxing Sunday.
bye x0 -
Good Morning All
Rather dull & over cast here, only got the bedding to get washed. Just hope it brightens up later.
I woke at 4.50am, no thanks to my mum's cat deciding to have her mad half hour of running riot in the bedroom! I went back to sleep, then woke at 8.45am. I usually at the car boot at that time. So Ive not bothered going!
Will do the usual clean through, then might have run out somewhere.
But first I got to find the recipe for flapjack, Ive got it somewhere.
smokeybabe good luck when reading the riot act!
n9eav hope your stomach gets better
amie well done for not having any chocolate!

:bdaycake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOGGINS:bdaycake:
Morning all, a bit dull this morning, windy though. Have someone coming to collect the washing machine I sold on ebay last week.
We have resolved a dilemma, I'll tell you about it...............when we got our first flat, we bought a wonderful pine dresser......its 5' wide with 3 cupboards and drawers and a top that is grooved to take plates. We hosted quiz nights to raise the money to buy it..............now 15 years on it is going to have to go................the sitting room in our new apartment is not huge and the position of radiators etc limit where we can put our furniture, the settee is in front of the dresser, have had to leave space to get into the cubpoards, so space is severly limited...........yesterday I broached selling the dresser and pointed out the amount of space we lost by having it in the sitting room...OH finally agreed.........we have to wait until we get the shelves and cupboards put up in the kitchen, to take the stuff thats in and on the dresser.
I will be very sad to see it go, but then we have had to shed a lot of things that had memories for us, but as I pointed out last night we have now entered a new phase in our lives. We are settled in the apartment, apart from the aggro with the HB and CTB...........I have the cash in the bank to pay it but on principal won't do it...........we will be very limited as to what we can do but have made the decision that we will go to Florida in early spring 2009. OH's passport runs out in Dec 2009 and mine in 2010 and we will not be renewing them. After that we will holiday in Cornwall........
Put some dried fruit in soak in cold tea last night for teabread, I also cooked some rhubarb, I have put a container of raspberries in with the rhubarb to make a crumble for supper, will cook them both whilst roasting the lamb tonight.
Right off to wait for this chap to turn up..............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning everyone, looks like it might be another gorgeous day..later.
Happy Birthday Moggins - have a wonderful day.
<<Hugs> to those not feeling so bright or whose rellies aren't well.
Towels in WM, DH is potting up yet more plants, written a letter to Nochex (like paypal) to try and get my money back. I tried to log on the other day to find my account had been suspended due to inactivity. Fair enough, havent' used it for a while. But in order to get it reactivated I have to post them all sorts of stuff - two proofs of address, one proof of identity, one defaced cheque... much more than I needed to to open the account in the first place! And to be honest, I don't feel comfortable sending this much stuff to these people..it's enough for them to clone my identity completely.
So I was going to write it off and forget it, but according to my MsMoney, I have £45 with them, and £45 is £45. So I decided to try and close the account instead. I had to go back to 2004's MSMoney archive to find out when I last used the account. I've told them to transfer the credit balance to the current account that is linked to the Nochex account, so I can't see that will cause them a problem. We'll see.
Roast chicken today. I had to go to Sainsburys yesterday and I bought some of theose new Vivaldi potatoes, the ones they say you can mash without butter becasue they are so creamy. Had mash yesterday...it was OK, but not as tasty as King Edward mashed potato. Hopefully the roasties will be good.
Right, off to make some fresh coffee, then I think it's time to sit in the garden and read the papers.
Have a good one everyone

Morning all!
Funny Churchmouse youve got a nice day in Eltham but its cloudy here across the water??
Went to Oxford St yesterday to try and get DS "airators" (trainers) the shop didnt have his size! so went across to John Lewis - had a really bad time in there (unusual for JL) took a ticket and waited. They have the most stupid system!!!! Its not done numerical, but you get a sort of 50x, 47B, 31T numbers??? so we waited and 4 others came in afterwards and got served - still we are not called? had waited 40 mins then complained and one of the assistants knew that our number hadnt been called. Another assitant was rude and said that our number had been called, but we had been there all the time and it hadnt! in the end the other assistant served us next, and she said can i offer you a complimentary coffee to compensate, that was fine. Anyway they didnt have the shoes in his size either! then said about the coffee, she said the manager said NO. I asked the manager for his name and said i would be writing a letter of complaint and thanks for the coffee! He said he didnt know about it? so either she didnt ask or there was another manager. Anyway, he apologised and arranged for us to have a complimentary coffee and cake afterwards, we was nice especially after waiting a total of nearly an hour to be seen! The assistant was nice enough, but she didnt really know about fitting shoes properly either - she measured his feet wrong and didnt seem to know about checking the space width etc, which I have to say at Clarks they have always been very good!
So I dont think I will be going back to John Lewis for shoes.:o
Caught site of myself in the mirror whilst waiting and got a shock at this chubby person staring back at me....needless to say its put me in abit of a downer about my weight now:o
amie -well done on staying strong girl!
mp - glad your settled in, cant wait to see pics of the harbour!
moggins - Happy Birthday:beer: have a nice day xx
I obviously missed some pics posted yesterday, so will go and see if i can look at them now.
have a nice sunday xx0 -
Well, I've jogged to the local market, got all my fruit and veg for the week, got a lift back with my mum, had breakfast, got showered, now on second breakfast and my OH and house guests are all still in bed! And my dogs! Going to make the dogs get up and go for a walk soon. Got to put all the food I cooked last night in the freezer in the garage - 3 individual shepherds pies, 3 individual vegetable chillis and 8 portion of rice!! Making soup later on for dinner as we're off to OH's parents for Sunday lunch. I don't eat red meat so she always cooks a chicken just for me and then we bring the leftovers home which does my lunches for the week and sometimes a stirfry too. I will also be freezing any leftover soup I make later, phew! Going to make some bread later for OH's sandwiches on Monday too and somewhere in between I'll be entertaining our guests and trying to get outside in the lovely sunshine! So you probably won't hear from me again till tomorrow.
Enjoy the sunshine those of you that have it, hope you all have a lovely day!October grocery challenge(started 17/10/07):

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOGGINS
Lovely day here very sunny. We were going to have a boat trip around the harbour but I feel a bit nauseaous. We might pop to the beach instead. Must do a little housework before we go though.
Managed to do some ironing yesterday. Last night settled down and watched Devil Wears Prada. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gosh lots of people up and about now
Shez, it must have been someone else in the window..not you. What an annoying shopping trip at JL, I normally find they are ok, very unlucky.
Casrina - sad to see the furniture go, but it sounds like you've made a sensible decision if it takes up so much space.
Wow, samspotts, mmmm all that cooking makes me hungry. Guess who still hasn't got a fridge in her new flat so the milk has gone off and hasn't had breakfast this morning
Drum roll please ladies and gents....I have just pegged washing out on my washing line for the first time ever in my life!! :T

Happy Birthday Moggins. Not had time to read through yet. Second attempt at getting a fridge freezer delivered happens this afternoon so feeling extremely stressed. For those who don't know one was supposed to arrive Monday, they arrived said would need radiator off in hall to bring it through front so would try back, came round front after giving up, DP had took radiator off he said 'Too late we've cancelled it you'll have to reorder' anyway told that company to stick it as said would be at least another 4 weeks so hopefully Currys will do better than Littlewoods today!
Hope everyone is well, I must go and get other fridge moved etc ready for delivery but hopefully will catch up with you all later! One day I might be more organised...........

Happy birthday moggins, enjoy your day:T
Thanks for all the hugs etc for dh and ds1 yesterday, just had mil on phone quizzing me how he was, and i was also getting it, she was asking if i was any better, are u sure?, ur not lying are u?! :rotfl: mil's eh!
Did brisket last night, smells lovely, mmm
Said to dh i was going to do fruit salad, so last night put lo to bed and came down to find he has done it, which was nice but he used pineapple juice instead of lemonade! and used a box of rasps i bought for muffins, even ds1 said they were for my muffins ( he said this as he was scoffing them:rotfl: )
Got my veg box last night, got rhubarb, cooking apples, cauliflower, onions, tatties, carrots and a neep, am thinking a crumble for the rhubarb, havent done that in ages.
