First you claim GDP is FLAWED, then you ignore your own report which shows GDP per capita likely INCREASES with immigrants.

Then you try to muddle the issue with claims of stimulus, while ignoring the probability that stimulus would create jobs regardless and migration jobs would be in addition to that.

Then you create a straw man argument to claim that the report says something it doesn't, ie, that "it means immigrants create jobs and you won't create jobs without them".

It doesn't say that at all.

You could create jobs without immigrants. You'll just create MORE jobs with them. And they create more jobs than they take.

Really, take a deep breath, and just think things through.

Once again you've muddled your way through to a false conclusion.

if thats what you want to believe, then fine.

The report says that immigrants create more jobs than they take.

They have a positive impact on job creation, and create jobs for locals that wouldnt happen if there was no migration.

Those jobs are only created because of migration, and are in excess of any jobs that would have been created anyway.

If you couldn't understand that the first time around, hopefully that clears it up for you.

At the very very best their report said that over that period immigration had a very very marginal effect based on some odd sort of analyisis of the numbers and with no theortical explanation.

if they had a theoretical explaination then we would know whether it applied to ALL economies or only ours.

clearly you have no idea of how it works, otherwise you could tell us how and why and where it works.

Hamish is a politicians dream, any kind of crisis or serious problem in the UK is met with a political backed "report" that is very very serious don't you know, and always comes up with the/a solution after the token execution of usually one or two scapegoats.

I've heard it all now.

This is just short sighted VI junk the poster is coming out with.

Economic migrants come here for the work, not to create work.

The poster can link to any report he wants. He lives too far from the issue to have any real world understanding. He has the minority view on this forum, and I suspect at large.

The posters on this particular forum are probably somewhat more literate and better educated than the majority of society at large.

Despite this, following almost 400 posts in the thread , many of them from you, it seems that you have failed to persuade a single poster that your minority view is correct.

Even IF you actually are correct (which I don't even come close to accepting), if you can't convince a single poster on this forum, how many of the wider UK population do you think will be convinced?

This thread has now become pointless, with the same "evidence" merely being repeated over and over. Possibly time for all concerned to bow out gracefully.
