Has Anyone Ever Ended Up Shipping to a Buyer They Knew?

I used to be a big fan of a celebrity and sold a book of the TV series he was in to his mum.0

Haha some amazing stories! Hasn't happened to me yet - either a celebrity or someone I know - but clearly there is still hope!
I remember a big fuss in the papers when someone revealed they'd sold something on eBay to Cherie Blair. Imagine printing the postage slip and seeing the address was 10 Downing Street! (Ok, it might have been a different address but still, pretty cool!)0 -
On Amazon I also sold a rare OOP book back to the author.
P.S. As far as I'm aware I've never sold to a celebrity or acquaintance, though I did once give some junk to the father of a film director for use in a film set. I was at an auction and bought some mixed bric-a-brac, and the items which looked vaguely old and interesting but not saleable (mostly things with minor damage you could only see close-up) were the kind of thing they were looking for to create an old spooky house interior. I was just glad I was able to offload the stuff without having to take it home.0 -
Years ago when I was daft enough to sell clothes on ebay I sold outfits to a girl band .
They wanted to collect in person so they could see the rest of my stock and two of the band turned up with a minder and expected me to know who they were, they made a lot of fuss about not being recognised- but I hadn't a clue who they were. They gave me an autograph though (I didn't ask) .
Was it the Herb Girls?

Damien Hirst's bought from me a few times. I keep looking out to see if I can see the 'artwork' he's used the items in.Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -
my mum has sold an item to the daughter of a celeb.
We had a giggle about it at the time as my mum does personalised items and this item had been done with a "adult" theme lol
I've never sold to a celeb or friend thouS.P.C member 1662 - target £3000 -

Ha, not it was a cookery book and buyer was actually not very pleasant and tried to knock my price down- and eventually I gave in as he was such a whinger , and then he claimed INR on Amazn about 4 days later and got a full refund. Was it the Herb Girls?
Even now I don't really remember, they were something to do with a TV show, one of the manufactured groups who got a couple of chart hits and then ended up on the cruise ship and local theatre type of circuit.
I've sold a lot to the BBC though for their props department, and they often send a bike courier to get their goods even for a £5 item.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sold a book to its author once, seems in his retirement he was buying up editions of his novels he'd not seen before.
Felt a bit bad taking the money for it as it was a most enjoyable book but then again it didn't sell for that much either.
