Has Anyone Ever Ended Up Shipping to a Buyer They Knew?

Or a celebrity?
Whenever I click on the buyer's name and address to print off a postage label I always wonder whether it'll randomly be someone I know!
Has this ever happened to anyone or are the laws of coincidence too great?

I once sold a book on Greenmetropolis to my cousin's daughter.
I haven't sold to any celebs. Or if I have, they weren't that famous as I didn't recognise their name.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Yes I once sold a t shirt to my cousin. He loved the shirt I had but it never really fitted me so I ended up putting it on ebay. I didnt know his user name and he didnt know mine. Only noticed it was him when I saw who was shipping to! He was made up cos he got it for half the price I paid for it!0

I sold a book on Greenmetropolis to Helena Bonham Carter's mother, who lived near me when I used to live in London...
On the downside, I sold something on eBay to someone I knew, who then messaged me to say they were skint and because we were friends they knew I wouldn't mind them doing an INR to get the money back...I told them not to, they did it anyway, eBay ignored my protests and they got a refund, kept the item, lost my friendship and I lost my eBay account and got chased for more than 4x the original amount as I'd already emptied my Paypal account. Sorry for the horror story but sadly it's true.0 -
Years ago when I was daft enough to sell clothes on ebay I sold outfits to a girl band .
They wanted to collect in person so they could see the rest of my stock and two of the band turned up with a minder and expected me to know who they were, they made a lot of fuss about not being recognised- but I hadn't a clue who they were. They gave me an autograph though (I didn't ask) .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I bid against my husband on a piece of a dinner service we needed. I was at work so he thought I wouldn't be able to bid. He won. Together we bid it up by about £2 but as it was difficult to find it was worth it just for the laugh we had about it afterwards!

That sounds like a friend you can do without. It was very unfair in the first place to put you in that position, and then to make money out of you ..... You are better off with out them.
The other thing I look for when I'm eBaying is whether the address is one where someone I know might have lived. It sort of happened once. I've done a lot of work on my family history and have roots in Berkshire. I had a buyer from that area who lived in a road named after a farm my family owned, which I thought was quite cool.Early retired - 18th December 2014
