These are not as good as GHDs. I have thick wavy hair, and was hoping these would save me £££ from having to rely on GHDs, but it took me twice as long to straighten it with the genie ones, and even then i had to go over it with ghd's to get it as poker straight as I like it.
However, they are still pretty good for the price tag, and will be going in my locker at work as a spare set.0 -

I also have thick wavy hair but I've gone the other way and brought my GHD mk IVs to work as the spare pair - I dont think mine are a patch on the wide plate Genie's. The only criticism I would have is that they are very hot and I did singe my hair a bit on the second attempt  I've since been and bought a heat protection spray so all good.0 -
I bought these and they don't seem to get as hot as they should. I have Remington ones which are variable temperature and they seem much hotter even though I only set them at 190C.
These ones are supposed to be 210C, but how can you check the temperature?0 -
Do anyone know why they are discontinued? I can't find them anywhere on the internet. I don't get why they stop selling them when they are that great.0
