good luck for wednesday, you must keep calm and only stick to the points at hand, it is irrelivant to the investigation how you feel and the situation you are in, this meeting is purely to investigate what they believe you have done
Be honest with them, you must take notes and have questions ready for them, such as how can they prove that the caller didn't disconnect the calls etc, also, even though you didn't disconnect the calls can they prove that all staff were aware of the rules regarding this - if it is a known fact then don't mention it but if it's not, then you may well have them there, when they ask you a question, they must not hurry you for an answer, if they do, ask them to wait for you to reply, if they ask a question you don't understand, tell them to reword it, only answer the questions you understand and can factually answer, do not say anything like 'I suppose if you look at it like that etc'
If they intimidate you, tell them so and ask them if it's their intention to intimidate you, that will stop them if they are taking that route
remember that at any stage, if anyone says something that is offensive or accusses you prior to them proving that you are guilty or if they swear (here's hoping they do) then stop the meeting stating that you wish to raise a grevience against the person who swore etc at you - if you do then the investigation has to stop there and then whilst the grievance is dealt with - do not use this as a delay tactic but this is an option for you if you believe you are being mis-treated but you have to remeber that this is an investigation so they are not going to be saying great things to you
above all, you must take someone in with you that will take notes, also if you have a mobile that takes video then turn this on, this will record the conversation without them knowing, you can just keep it in the top of your bag, depending on your phone you may get 45 mins out
I know that this is not what you should do but for your own protection and for your records....it's what I would do
good luck, don't worry and you know you are innoccent so you tell them so, do not be bullied by them, they are not your family and they mean nothing to you, do not let them upset you as what they say means nothing to you, as they mean nothing to you, they have no power over you and at the end of the day, what's the worst they can do to you ? fire you? well if that's all they can do then bring it on, you must get into the state of mind that you are in control not them
let us know what happens and take care0 -

I think that's good advice from poe.tuesday except for concealing a recording device. If you have a tape or digital recorder and want to take it to the meeting as well as a friend to take notes, then ask if you can use it. If they refuse, this can be noted. You will know that you shouldn't record conversations unless you have pointed out that you will be doing it.0 -

Will keep my fingers crossed for you
Just to repeat that as a TL in a call centre then most call reporting software is not 100% faultless. If yours is linked in with your PC and you had already reported a faulty system first thing in the morning then honestly there is nothing they can do. You reported it to your coach and a call was logged with IT for the problem and as that's done then no data from that system should be able to be used for the purposes of proving you terminated calls. Just the same as I can't diciplin my staff for not answering calls if their phone is broken and they have reported it to IT and are waiting for them to come fix it
Best of luck and let us know how you get onDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Thanks for all the encouragement and support. I went in to the meeting. There were 3 managers there - 2 from HR. They read the accusations out to me and showed me the calls that I was supposed to have cut off. Explained that I hadn't and was willing for 'them' or 'me' to call the cusomers in question back and ask them.
All three were totally 'gobsmacked'. I think they expected me to put my hand up and admit I was guilty (which I'm not).
They adjourned the meeting and said that they will be in touch. Their parting words were that we will need to investigate your 'comments' further and this will lead to a further investiagtion meeting, or reinstatement or a disciplinary meeting - 'we will be in touch'.
I'll let you all know what happens next. This is nearly 2 weeks off work at the moment.
Regards

I can't believe they called you in just for that. It really is beyond a joke.
One good thing about this thread, if they don't get their act together soon and reinstate you, then if you need to take the matter further, you have your posts on here as a refresher of what has happened and relevant dates.
Have you got a copy of the disciplinary procedure? Does it state in there how long such an investigation should take? Seems to me they have done sod all in the past two weeks.
Keep in touch with how things are going ... don't let the b*stards get you down xGone ... or have I?0 -
I could be completely wrong here (it has been known!) but my OH works in a call centre, and I thought that all calls needed to be recorded now, as if any customer issues, customer had to be able to be provided with copies of any calls under DPA?"Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first woman she meets and then teams up with three complete stangers to kill again."-- TV listing for the movie, The Wizard of Oz,0
