Love, love, love them; I call them the fairies. Visitors think we're mad as OH and I spot them out of the window and rush across exclaiming "the fairies are here".................must have been that furniture polish I sniffed; I'm not used to it......Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Good luck and posi vibes for Mr Macpep1 and Mr Ionafan for tomorrow's interviews.
The best job I ever had was the one OH and I did a mock interview for the night before (in the bath) and every single question he threw at me came up in the real one! (My success may also have had something to do with not being able to wipe the sleepy grin off my face ....)
Better is good enough.0 -
Ooh, OH came home early and caught me hoovering! Then picked his way carefully across the newly-mopped drying kitchen floor...then upstairs and observed the drying washing and clean bedlinen. I think I've got a lot of Brownie points; he anxiously asked if I'd had any fun today as well as flying and going to the gym! Nice to know I can still bring a smile to his face after 34 years - he's very tolerant as he is naturally tidier and more prone to cleaning than I am.
Anyway, the list:
Monday Study and/or Living room
Level One
[STRIKE]Clear the floor and hoover or mop[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]HH Paperwork or decluttering [/STRIKE]
Level Two
[STRIKE]Dust any pictures[/STRIKE] even captured some cobwebs in fevverduster
Level Three
[STRIKE]Do a 5 minute job that's been on your list for ages[/STRIKE] re-potted plant given to me for Xmas which has been in its tiny pot and bubble wrap since whenever BIL bought it.
[STRIKE]HHExercise[/STRIKE] did an hour's zumba
Start creating a folder with all financial information in Can't exactly strike this one out, but got as far as tracking down the soa so I can start checking/planning finances.
Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
[STRIKE]Wipe the table and work surfaces[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Sweep/mop the floor[/STRIKE]
Level Three
[STRIKE]Catch up on any handwashing[/STRIKE]Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
macpep, ianofan thinking of both your OHs. I do a lot of recruitment and what is critical is to ask questions. Have you got anything else you want to ask? Yes! why does the role exist? why did you (the interviewer) join the company? what would you like to see done differently in this role in the future? What do you think the challenges are to making this role work? All generic questions that make them carry on talking and can turn a negative round. Be proud of them whatever happens, even getting an interview seems to be hard at the moment.
So far tonight I have done the DW and the WM.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Good Evening all,
Hugs, spoonn and stay positive vibes winging there way to all those who need or want them.
Good luck and posi vibes for Mr Macpep1 and Mr Ionafan for interviews on Thursday.
Another day of mind numbing computer training today. The new system is being implemented on Thursday and will cause mayhem, as we all still have a lot of reports etc half finished on the old system which we will have to redo on the new one from scratch
I have sorted out dinner for everyone, DW/WM both on, bathroom and hall S&S and completed most of the list.0 -
Did such a stupid thing - put chicken and mushroom casserole in the slow cooker, turned it down from high to low and left it. Went back to dish up the feast this evening and no, I hadn't turned it from high to low - I'd turned it from low to off :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:. Luckily DH saved the day - I had to pop out to Mr T to collect a Direct order whic had come in and he popped it on the hob and heated it up for us for 30 mins. I would say I won't do that again but it's not the first time it's happened!!!
DD just come back from a friend's house - her and her friend are having trouble with 1 of a pair of traveller twins who is picking on them and the school just seem to be ignoring it. Think I'll be going up to school tomorrow morning as v cross especially as when I spoke to the Head Teacher last night she said they will speak to someone today - today they were told no, they have to wait til Friday. I am fine with travellers - everyone deserves a chance to have an education and their way of life is very different to ours - but the disruption these 2 are causing is unbelievable. DD has been in tears about it.
Time to get kids ready for bed now. Sorry to rant on hereFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
DS is out for the count, poor little lamb........I am about to have a big swig of G@viscon as Skint Baby is giving me a vicious round of heartburn..
Not going to risk washing behind the settee as it will wake up DS.
Going to go into Room of Doom in a little while and compile list of all debts vs insurance.....and get will updated so that DS and Skint Baby are protected properly.....working in financial services in a past life for many moons, I fall into the category of being worth more dead than alive. I just need the young Skints to know all are equal and no one is disinherited on a technicality because i had procrastinated so much that i did nothing at a time when I knew significant risk was in front of me.
Apart from anything else the solicitor firm who drafted my will was on as executor has been removed by law society for ripping off clients :eek::eek::eek: but my will wording says this firm or their successive firm, so potentially the young Skints could be stitched up with nothing :mad::mad: so if I do nothing else, I need to do a codecil to remove their powers and get it witnessed properly.
If nothing else WHEN I get home with Skint Baby (power of positive thinking here) I will know exactly how much debt I have and on a balance of probabilities WHEN (here's that positive thinking again
) in my lifetime will I be able to be debt free - and join the Debt Free Wannabees on here aswell :money:
Knowing how to do a thing and being able to consistently do it day in day out for yourself are two different things, so hoping a more positive Skinty comes out of this the other side than joined this thread 3 months ago.
Right, time to get this poisonous frog swallowed down in one :eek::eek:
As Scott of the Antarctic said " I may be some time!"The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
macpep, ianofan, good luck for OH for tomorrow.....Mum of 2, pleased DH saved dinner and the day:j and sorry to hear DD and her friend are having trouble,:mad::mad:
Bullying at school is just horrible and when the school seems unwilling or unable to do anything you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders - don't worry about venting, a problem shared is a problem halved - lots of anti-bullying vibes being sent DD and friends way from all at the Skint Ritz :grouphug:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
positive interview vibes for the two DHs on thursday
mumof2 glad your dinner turned out cooked, hope the school do something re the bullying
skintbreeder hope you get the will wording sorted out, and dont need it for a very very long time.SPC~12 ot 124
