I'm going to go and inventory the freezer and tidy it up. DD just shoves things in instead of putting them in the labelled drawers so it needs doing. I'll defrost it another time though as I only did it just before Xmas :p

    Morning

Just awarded my self a 10 min break here!!

I have dealt with a load of paperwork, the shredder has been on overtime.
Recycling bin is loaded, I have been well and truely ruthless, the kitchen sides are a lot cleared, now maybe I will be able to use them to cook on!!
Floors are next to be attacked.
    WM is on
    Bed to be remade

I see yet another high street brand has gone and is refusing to accept any vouchers, I'm now going to MK tomorrow to spend ALL my xmas hoard of vouchers, before any more go bust and refuse to accept them. I am sure there is something I can find for me, or stock up on for presents for others for the rest of the year.
Then I can use the money I would have spent on presents for me later on in the year, when maybe I do want something.

Mumof2 last time I threw out a dead baking tin, Mr LW took it to the tip himself.

We store stuff like dead light-bulbs and bulky bits for disposal in the shed, and when there's enough to be worth a trip, he goes on an afternoon when he's on Early shift (less crowded than the weekend) so we'd bung dead bakeware in with that stuff.

Hmmm not sure this flylady thing is right for me but its sure been a productive day so maybe I'm taking my own twist!

Day 1 of trying to follow the flylady thread and already gone major league off list. Kitchen is now spotless, fridge has been cleaned and sorted, drawer full of random cables and leads has been tidied (looking for a particular power cable) but not a single thing done off Monday's list! Well OK the cable drawer is in the living room so I suppose that could count as a declutter but that's about it.

OH irritated me by criticising the way I was cooking dinner so didn't want to be in the same room as him till I'd calmed down which is why the kitchen got the full force of my first attempt at flying. Might try to sort LR when kitchen day comes round!
That's actually a Flying success.... the lists are not set in stone, they're just suggestions. If following your own lists works better for you, then go for it! It's what I do, and the List Mistresses;) are not offended (At least, I hope they're not):D

Not sure about OH criticising the way you cook dinner though; he should be grateful you cook for him at all if that's his attitude!

Actually, I'll be lucky if I get anything done today; the cold I've been fending off, and I thought was departing, has come back in full force; my neck's so stiff I can barely lift my head off the cushion, all my limbs feel like lead (or even more like lead than usual) and my voice has gone all croaky.

I have some spreadsheet maintenance needs doing, also the laptop needs a spot of attention, so I may stick to doing that sort of stuff, and hope I feel a bit better to cook dins tonight.

Honestly, you can tell I'm married to an IT techie - there's two of us in the house, and we have four working computers, (excluding Mr LW's work laptop) plus other internet-capable gadgetry.:D Interestingly, we have no smartphones or tablets - neither of us likes them.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Hi there

I didn't get chance to post yesterday, but have had a busy couple of days, flying wise. Did the kitchen yesterday and just a general tidy round before work. I was so tired last night, and nodded off after tea, (an easy pizza and salad), so missed the end of a comedy we were watching! I'd had a bad head all day.

Better today and already have done the usual round of feeding the birds outside (very quiet out there today), the cats and us! Then did another general tidy before preparing food ready for the slow cookers, so have two different meals bubbling away! Invaluable on work days. We've also taken next door's dogs for a good walk - it was lovely and warm in the sun, too - and OH then got us a poached egg on toast for lunch. which I've now scoffed, and I'm off to work in 15 mins.

Good vibes all round, it sounds as if loads of you are really busy. Good health and good wishes to Skintbreeder and Mrs Moneypenny's DS and anyone feeling poorly. Off I go! R x

I need a HUGE kick up the backside tomorrow morning please. Night all xx

Kicking (gently) although it's past morning.
Quite pleased with day off so far; one load in wm before I went to gym. Only did 1 class as easing myself in a bit gently for a week or so after Christmas gorging/lounging.
Did bit of top-up shopping on the way home, few bargains in Co-*p.
Made bed up and put another load in wm.
Fed birds. Bird bath only part frozen today - had to use kettle on it yesterday.

Think that's it so far, plan to look at proper list after lunch and see what I've been missing!!

The Magnificent Four are plundering the food on the bird table, but the long-tailed tits got there a couple of hours ago, and anyway there's plenty more for the little birds in the squirrel-proof feeders outside my study window. Mr Blackbird is enjoying the mealworms that I threw out on the patio a couple of days ago: they have reappeared where the snow has melted. The winter jasmine looks beautiful, and my hellebores are reappearing from under their white blanket :)

It's so much nicer watching the birds than flying :( but I'm getting a bit better at flying then am really pleased with myself so enjoy the birds even more. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. My master plan for 2013 is address quality of life; not that there's anything majorly wrong - but I'm getting "of an age" when OH and I need to think about what we want to get out of life in the next 5-10 yrs; and in fact in the immediate year or so . Coo, deep subject, need a :coffee:

Yes it's getting really sad with all those big names, and fairly good quality too, struggling and sinking. Having designated 2013 for having a life re-think, I'm not sure that the master plan of going freelance is a good idea. Should just be grateful with what I've got, and get on with it rather than rocking boats in stormy seas.

I spent so much time watching the birds yesterday :o I too am having a life rethink this year. Like you, nothing wrong just wondering what could add more.

Coal tit has visited today. Birds all seem a bit grumpy today, blackbird being so territorial and blue tit even bullying the coal. Chaffinchbrood minding their own business.

Floors hoovered and mopped so back to the emails whilst they dry.

The goldfinches amuse me; they are so territorial at times and hover about like tiny helicopters squawking at each other - then settle round the feeder in small groups.

Ooh, we're turning this into a twitchers' thread.....still I expect Ionafan and others will join us.
