Well we just had hailstones,it's freezing and windy but now the sun's come out!
Dare I say it's going to be another one of 'those' years...
Hardy stuff is thriving though and the fruits are looking terrific :j It's mostly the tomatoes and that sort of thing I think may suffer although the ones I have outside are still looking very happy..go figure!0 -
Yay for the worms then :j Although with the showers we're getting, the birds are having a feast.
Hailstones here too today, quite a heavy and sudden downpour. Now, the sky is a pretty shade of blue and the sun is giving us the pleasure of it's company. Shame I'm still at the office!0 -
hail here too. Am hoping for a better day tomorrow. I also need to remember the log in details for flickr so I can share some photos!0

You got it easy then. It hailed here twice. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
This morning it is grey, gloomy, windy and pouring with rain. I put beer traps out the other night so I guess they're getting a top-up! Most of my runner beans were just coming through when I looked on Wednesday. I think this batch of cold will finish off my last cucumber. Next door's grass is looking lovely and lush though so something likes it0

I'm told we had hail. I either slept through it, or was at work....:o
Decent couple of days forecast. Will definitely be mowing, as well as repotting the first lot of toms, of which only 6 have sprouted out of about 20 seeds (though some seeds were 2 years old I suspect). Will also plant my 4th & final (for now) batch of lettuce. Hope to goodness to get the weeding finished too (dunno where I'll put it all though, as the composters are full & I appear to have a tub of stuff waiting to go in there...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

No chance, don't do delegation. Pleased you had a nice time even if you didn't bring the sun back with you.
Ribs feeling a lot better providing I don't touch them, and dog and DD went back home last night :j
Dog is now trained not to even think about walking on flower or veg beds, never mind doing anything else
I have enough trouble with local cats.
Dreadful weather again, cold and damp my veg are not happy sat under fleeces again, but they're alive. They are however happier than my son who went off for a weekends camping at a music festival this morning. It's going to be soggy tent pitches all round.
The late planted spuds in the ground are now (after a quick rummage this morning) at the same stage as the ones planted end of March, but all of them seem to have put on lots of leafy growth with all the rain recently. Just hope they are making tatties too underground.
Tomorrow is looking lovely here, 16c and sunny. That's because I'll be down at mums on the coast again, so hopefully Sunday won't be too bad either and I can finally catch up with potting on, sowing, and weeding.0 -

FTFY.
I'm glad the ribs are ok, because I'm away again this weekend from tonight until Sunday and I need someone to do the watering again.
Cheers. I owe you a nice gin and tonic, or some such thing. :beer:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Hmmm.........think this thread should be renamed "Help Annie and her part time assistant MBE grow their dinners"
Have a good one Mr be."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

You mean the clink of tin this morning as he lift a very heavy bag off his living room floor wasn't baked beans and a can opener :rotfl:Hmmm.........think this thread should be renamed "Help Annie and her part time assistant MBE grow their dinners"

Stop making me laugh you two, ribs still ache a bit.
Well you've not picked a bad time to go away AGAIN! other than keeping things warm in the greenhouse you're not missing much gardening wise.
Don't mind a naff spring if we get a decent summer, but would be gutted if it was as bad as last year again.0
