If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

MBE!!!! That's the best thing ever, and I shall cherish it.0

The zealot in me peeked last night and I could definitely see another couple of tomatoes popping through!
Cucumbers are also popping through which is great. Next weekend will see the 3rd batch of lettuce planted, plus possibly the first round of re-potting! Think I'll have some carrots to thin out etc. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Well the weather has been wonderful here for last few days and all my seeds planted the previous week have gone mental
just need to workout where it is all going to go! We've got one chunk of allotment left to dig over and another small piece that just needs weeding again
I'm going to have a wander round in a min and do a little before doing some more college workwould much rather garden all day
Hope everyone is well0 -
Totally off topic.........that is the first and last time my MIL visits. I've kept her away for 20 years, never ever again. Non stop talking about anything and everything. Even when hubby said; if you stop for a min I'll answer the question you asked 5 mins ago....Oh dear, I do talk alot don't I, I'm sorry, Connie was saying on the other week that I do........and off she went again and continued all evening until I closed my bedroom door!
How ever back on topic......my neglected garden seems to have been munched a lot:mad: More pellets and beer traps needed.
March planted tatties have been earthed up and I had a little tiny rummage and I have tiny baby onesall the others are now up too.
Toms been potted on......some are normal size and some are real runts this year. The Black Russian are very slow and small.
Cucumbers seem happy if not a little nibbled, not going into final pots as metoffice have gale warning for London and SE on Thursday so will bring them in tomorrow incase.
Courgettes have been nibbled a lot, look sorry for them selves leaf wise still flowering though, think I'll pop another few seeds in, in case they curl up and die.
Parsnips......no sign yet, do they get munched John?
BNS.....alive but not doing much yet, nights a bit nippy still for them
Leeks potted on to a big pot 'till I work out where to put them
Chillis and peppers not massive this year but bigger than this time last year,
French beans have done well in the root trainers and in black buckets now, they can go under cover if need.
Looks like a great year for fruit. Red currents are full of flowers, so to the patio cherry, blueberry and 3rd year gooseberry have flowers too and raspberries look the best they've been for years. Even a sad little m27 rescued apple tree is full of blossom. Thornless blackberry looks healthy but too soon for flowers.
Assorted salad stuff doing ok, parsley seems to have overwintered, and a celery!? which all got eaten last year. I'm guessing year 2 it will go to seed but only if it makes it that far.
Right lunch over and back out there.0 -

Can't stop laughing at that....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Mine are only about an inch tall and only some have thier second leaves on. I've just thrown a few pellets down sparsely but I don't think slugs eat them, just making sure.

My first try at French Beans for about 40yrs straight in the ground and a complete failure. Now have another 170 just poking through in modules.0 -
Glade it made you chuckle. Hubby and I are just starting to see the funny side tonight. We usually visit her so we can leave after we've had enough which is usually 4 hours tops.
170 french beans is a lot of beans John, I have 8with a 2nd lot sown again today in the root trainers. These are the lidl dwarf yellow beans if they don't crop well then I'll go back to my usual ones.

It's a good job you didn't see the spider I found yesterday! I'm the spider catcher in our house but this one even freaked me out *shudders*
Annie I have spare everything if you need any stuff
My next door neighbour has had a clearout and as a result OH has had a busy day,I'm gutted however as he's slinging a load of lovely pvc stuff and I've no room to turn it into a smashing coldframe...I did measure up!
I put some seaweed feed on the rhubarb and it finally looks a little thicker must be lacking in something but not sure what?
What a difference so far this year, although did I just read gales???0 -
I have a radish question. I thought I'd been super careful and only potted one seed per (very small) pot, but some have more than one sprouting up. Should I try to separate them, or just leave them as is?0
