Hi

Providing they don't belong to someone else, pick away.
I'm hoping to get the last few in from my trees before the high winds predicted for later tomorrow arrive.
Beat me to it annie."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

Just spent the entire day collecting apples and juicing them. I'm wet through as it's not stopped raining, a sore stomach from turning the press, backache from bending over and all I've got is 4 gallons to turn into cider. It probably would have been cheaper to go out and buy the stuff. Did anyone ever say self-suficiency was easy but at least I know why I haven't bothered with a gym subscription.0

We have a new transition town group in my area and they almost stripped the trees bare here of apples and pears.
I put in a complaint that they weren't leaving any and got told to join them then I could have some too!!!!!
Had to go further afield but I don't have any where near as many as usual.
Been out to check garden for potential missiles but it's neighbours eucalyptus tree I'm worried about. It leans over at 90 degrees anyway, and won't take much for it to topple I would have thought.
And our new shed is in it's path if it falls :eek:0 -

What is a new transition group, never heard that expression before?
Eucalyptus trees are shallow rooted and very fast growing. I know, we had a couple down at our last place, fortunately we didn't have any near neighbours.
I'm worried as we are surrounded by trees, plenty of them 60-80 ft high, many of them are ours. Just worried that some may come down and block the lanes. If the trees in the wood at the back of us came down some would reach the house, but the direction of the wind means the far side of the wood would take the brunt of the force, so I've got everything crossed and my DH has just gone to get some petrol for the generator.
Made some soup so I can reheat it on the woodburner if need be.0 -

All trees still surround my garden. Had hoped the sycamores might have fallen into the park but alas not.
Hope you, your garden and your veg are OK0
