Sorry but there is not enough info provided Gran71, what was the date of the flight?

You can also try the search facility to look for posts that mention 'VS074'.
The above is just my opinon - which counts for nowt! You must make up your own mind.
  • Oops sorry it was the 7th June 2013 Orlando to Manchester delayed more than 24 hours, I've searched but last posts seemed to be heading to court with lots of delays
  • Hi All
I finally received my checks for myself and my husband on the 15 December 2014 total of £952.08 for the delay of 22 hours and disgraceful treatment of us over the delay and claim. The end came when they wrote to me after the appeal case jet2 v Huzar and denied the claim again. I spoke to the CAA who advised that I should put in a formal complaint against Virgin. but by now I was total fed up with it all and just wrote advising virgin that if the did not meet the claim within the next 14 days then I would start court proceedings. Within 8 days they offered to settle and the cheques arrived 4 days latter.
We of course will have no need to ever deal with any Virgin company in the future.
So thanks to all and money saving expert.

Just one point for everyone on the forum. for newbies to this site it is very difficult and frustrating to understand all of the unexplained abbreviations.

    Once again thank you everyone.

  • Hi All

Have waited until now to start my claim for this delay, but have returned the Virgin claim forms just this week to start the process off.

Just wondered if all on here would consider a class action lawsuit against Virgin in this matter.

Anyone effected by this delay can contact me via this site, just pm me.

I am lead to believe that Virgin now dispute the pilot illness that was given as the reason for the delay when we all sat around like lemons in the departure lounge at MCO on the 7th June 2013.

If anyone has information that could or would help all in obtaining the right result in this matter, please pm me and lets move forward as a group, and beat them at their own game.
  • Hi everyone.

Just thought I would update on my claim for VS004 22 August 2009 from JFK to LHR (26 hour delay).

Virgin originally rejected my claim in 2013 under "extraordinary circumstances" for the fault. I took the claim to CAA who of course sided with Virgin. I resubmitted the claim to Virgin after the supreme court ruling and lo and behold I received two cheques from Virgin totaling £942.26.

Wanted to share just in case anyone was on the same flight.

    Best regards

mchillerman, Wow, that's a big undertaking and it could be fraught with many difficulties.

Do you already have a contact list of others from the same flight? if so how many?

I think that if it were me, I would get as large a group together as possible and then approach one or two of the more reputable NWNF solicitors with a view to reduced fees.

The admin for a large group could be a nightmare to deal with yourself. If you take it on your a braver man than me, but good luck either way.
